Judges 10-12: Jephthah

Judges 10-12: Jephthah

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, [Rev 7:9] After these things connects us to the first group in Rev 7; one hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel [Rev 7:4]...

Genesis 31-32: Jacob and Laban

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. - Matthew 7:1-2 Right judgment flows from right discernment, and that makes discernment an important asset in this life of faith. Right discernment is a gift from the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not...

Judges 9: Abimilech

And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and fortyfour thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed [Rev 7:4] The Lord is not finished with Israel. Revelation 7:1-8, along with several other Scriptures [Rev 14:1-5 and Rom 11 for starters] clearly describe Israel coming to know Jesus as Messiah. This will take place during the seven year Tribulation. Antichri...

Genesis 29-30: Jacob and Rachel

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:17-18 This was a passage that captivated my attention years ago as a non-believer bec...

Judges 7-8: Gideon's Army

Judges 7-8: Gideon's Army

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. [Rev 6:9] At first glance this fifth seal seems unique in that it doesnt administer any sort of judgment. And they cried with a loud voice saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?...

Genesis 27-28: Jacob and Esau

But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. -Matthew 6:17-18 Fasting is a spiritual practice oftentimes overlooked in our day. Perhaps it is because we are not commanded to fast in the New Testament. Then the disciples of John [t...

Judges 6: Gideon's Fleece

Judges 6: Gideon's Fleece

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. [Rev 6:1-2] The Real and the Counterfeit are revealed in these verses. They identify Christ and Antichrist, respectiv...
