Chandler & Jacob jump right into a review of John Cassavetes Husbands (1970). The pair then discuss the shortcomings of Cassavetes's styles and try to come to terms with their mixed reactions to his work.

Chandler reviews an anime show, Jacob talks Yakuza movies, and then we review and analyze Mike Leigh’s 1993 film, Naked .

The Color of Pomegranates is one of the most avant-garde films of all time and is #84 on the Sight & Sound Greatest Films of All Time list. Chandler & Jacob review the film and pitch the premise to their friend Nick.

Jacob has been busy watching movies while social distancing, including watching the entire Pirates trilogy in less than 48 hours. We watch Bad Education starring Hugh Jackman on Chandler’s suggestion and the BFI movie of the week, Los Olvidados (1950), is a harrowing account of growing up in poverty in ‘50s Mexico City.

As the pandemic rages on outside, a special guest joins us on the podcast to discuss short films by famous directors and the difference between short films and features. But first, we all review the eternally charming British fantasy/romance: A Matter of Life and Death.
