Paul gives us 3 kinds of people the Lord uses to bring Joy to others here in Philippians 2:17-30.

Paul has just written to us to "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" and then goes on to say that our obedience must be free of grumbling and disputing.

Philippians 2:12-13 How are you transformed? Paul says we work out our salvation yet it is God who works in us for HIs good pleasure.  So which is it?

In Philippians 2:8-11, Paul continues to use Jesus as an example for us, to see that God will lift us up, gift us, honor us..... all to the glory of the Father!

Paul gives us an illustration of what it means to count others as more significant than ourselves in Philippians 2:5-8.

Paul gets real practical in Philippians 2:1-4. Selfishness destroys joy, but joy comes through unity!

Philippians 1:27-30 Paul tells the Philippians whether he comes to visit them or not, there's only one thing that matters. One thing.

Philippians 1:18-26. Paul is going to mention five things that give him (and us) great joy in the midst of trouble, sorrow or pain.

We know how babies grow or plants or businesses. But how do Christians grow? Paul, in his prayer for the Philippians, outlines how to grow as a Christian. (Your Joy is connected to your spiritual formation.) It's not complicated, he tells us in only 3 verses!

Matthew 9:18-26

God knows you inside and out - that is why He is the perfect giver!

Psalm 34:18-19 tells us that we will be brokenhearted but the Lord is close to us. How does He do it?

In Matthew 8:23-27 Jesus calms a wind storm that is swapping the boat he and the disciples are in, proving once again that Jesus is mighty to save. What storm do you have in your life?

In Matthew 8:28-34 Jesus takes on an army of demons and conquers them with just a word.  But there are pigs in the equation and they have to be dealt with as well.  Do you have any pigs in your closet that must be sent out of your life?

In Matthew 9:1-8 Jesus forgives a man before He heals the man. The self-righteous freak out and the faithful are comforted.

In Matthew 9 9-13 Jesus calls a social outcast (tax collector) to follow Him.  In this text we discover grace, love, and mercy.

We worry more than we let on. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:24-34 that Kingdom living is to have no worry. Can He empower us to do it?

Jesus in Matthew 7:1-6 talks about judgment and discernment. This politically incorrect sermon will help clarify the difference between grace and enabling people to stay in their rebellion.

Jesus tells us to ask, seek, knock for wisdom on how to live in His Kingdom now. Matthew 7:7-12

Jesus offers an invitation to His Kingdom, but there is only one door, one path that leads there. Matthew 7:13-27

In Matthew 8:1-17 Jesus healed the unclean, the unworthy, the unpretentious and the unhealthy... all the kinds of people from our culture that are disregarded and not thought well of. His compassion knows no limit!

Jesus tells us how to live in His Kingdom while we are still living on earth; in this part of the Sermon on the Mount we deals with the pursuit of materialism.

Matthew 6:5-8 talks about how God wants authenticity from His people, not religious rituals.
