STRONG & MIGHTY Ephesians 6:10 Be Strong Series   Ephesians 6:10 "final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."   The word of prophetic direction the Lord gave me for Praise in 2023 was "Be Strong." We have gone through some very trying times, yet as it says in James 1:2-4 we can "count it all joy for it has produced endurance, which leads to perfection." The more endurance one has,...

GOD MAKES YOU STRONG Romans 16 Gone Fishing Series Fishing isn't an easy profession. There are no set workdays; the hours are endless, with often little results. The weather can often be a problem; you must wait for days and weeks for the conditions to change. Likewise, fishing for souls is not for the faint at heart. We must be on the job 24/7; there is no break from being a living witness. Some...

Sunday, October 15, 2023 Selfless Servants Romans 15 Minister David Roberts Gone Fishing Series

There are no two humans alike; even twins have different personalities. Each person has been given a level of faith. Our faith comes from God! Who are we to try to make people fit into any religious box? Jesus has set us free, so we should be enjoying our freedom. Yet, as we learn in Romans 14, our freedom should not be at the cost of someone else stumbling. What we believe as our freedom might di...

Living Sacrifices Gone Fishing Series Romans 12 Soldiers, firemen, Police Officers, Parents, and anyone who sacrifices themselves for others are highly admired. The call to Christians goes beyond offering ourselves when the need arises to become living sacrifices. The Levitical system in the Old Testament was a temporary way for the people of Israel to be made right with God. Sacrificing animals w...

God's Kindness Gone Fishing Series Romans 11:1-24   The average person does not come to the Lord through us preaching hellfire and brimstone; they come through acts of kindness. We live in a mean and cruel world. When we consistently show people kindness, we gain their hearts, and they become open to our message. Family members often become very resistant, where we can't convince them with words,...

FISHING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS Gone Fishing Series Romans 9 In the first eight chapters of the Book of Romans, Paul brings forth the Gospel of Christ, highlighting its rejection by most Jews. It may have seemed that Paul had rejected the Jews, his chief opponents, and put all his efforts into reaching the Gentiles. In Romans 9, Paul counters the idea of him being anti-Jew, as he shares how his hea...

Sunday, August 13th Control Gone Fishing Series Romans 8:1-17   Humankind has an innate desire to be in control. As children become adolescents, they long to be free of their parent's control. Students can't wait to graduate from school to be free of their teacher's control. Many employees would much rather work independently so they are not under their bosses' control. We see this longing in Jane...

July 23, 2023 CAN I GET AWAY WITH IT? Gone Fishing Series Romans 6 Pastor Joshua Kennedy None of us like to suffer the consequences of our bad choices. We cover up, shift blame, and make excuses to get away with it. If we are caught, we still try to find a way to resolve things to move on without the negative effects.  Paul asks the Romans, "Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?" He a...
