Episodios
Soulgazer by Maggie Rapier 12.08.2025 37:51
You should know before you read this that it is the first book in a duology.
Rerelease: Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas 12.08.2025 41:59
The Hathaways wraps up without any coitus interruptus, which doesn't seem very on-brand. We really liked certain parts of this book, but had a hard time talking about it because PTSD is scary and your wife can't be your therapist.
Rerelease: Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas 05.08.2025 35:30
We don't love this plot, we don't love this conflict, but we love this book so so so much and we basically can't stop gushing about how perfect Leo and Marks are.
Rerelease: Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas 01.08.2025 41:25
The third Hathaway book may have a lackluster romance, but the sibling interactions are so good we can't recommend skipping it.
Rerelease: Seduce Me At Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas 29.07.2025 35:20
This book has a LOT going on. Even though it's the second in the series it goes back in time for several chapters of set up, there's a weird murder doctor love triangle that serves no purpose, and the pairings from book 1 and book 4 in the series get a lot of time on page. There is also a sex cabin that is a significant portion of the book and absolves all sins and you should totally read this.
Rerelease: Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas 25.07.2025 39:29
This book is a total fantasy. Rich dude who desperately wants to spend his money? Check. Incredible chemistry? Check. Dude who solves all problems so his lover can sleep in? Check. Yeah, we liked this.
On a Wild Night by Stephanie Laurens 22.07.2025 55:04
Batshit in the demimonde isn't very batshit, but is very filled with sexy encounters.
An Experienced Mistress by Bryn Donovan 18.07.2025 28:45
Longtime listeners might think Laine was the first person to roar like a lion in this episode, but it was Meg!
The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam by Megan Bannen 15.07.2025 35:43
The adventures in Tanria have come to an end, and we end up talking much more about the arc of Tanria than Rosie and Adam's immortal place in it.
The Fortune Flirtation by Jenna Bigelow 11.07.2025 40:20
Did you know "Ostia" in Latin translates to "Cougar Town?"
Rerelease: Scandal's Bride by Stephanie Laurens 08.07.2025 46:14
There is nothing I can put in this description that can come close to describing the crazy that is this novel. Convos with God, drugging a man so he'll knock you up, being blackmailed into marriage by a will and a butt birthmark are only the beginning.
Historical Accuracy with Jenny Holiday 04.07.2025 43:43
Meg is joined by Jenny Holiday to discuss what we really mean when we say things are historically accurate.
Re-release: Earls Trip by Jenny Holiday 30.06.2025 26:07
This books plays with using characters with anachronistically modern world views in a recognizable historical romance set up. Like it or don't, it's all very deliberate.
Look Before You Leap by Virginia Heath 27.06.2025 24:21
We both very much enjoyed this low-angst romance.
Eliza and the Duke by Harper St. George 24.06.2025 40:39
This book has the best carriage sex of all time, we're pretty sure. Also, everything else about it is perfect.
Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas 20.06.2025 45:24
Not even going to pretend that this episode isn't mostly a comparison with the original and a discussion of rewrites.
Savannah Royals by Lindsay Barrett 17.06.2025 33:05
This books gets an A+ for vibes, and is very unconventional. YMMV on if that works.
Worldly and Temporal Things: Uncertain Magic with Kate Bateman 16.06.2025 1:00:57
Alex and Meg are joined by Kate Batemen to discuss the final book in Laura Kinsale's backlist.
Going Solo by D.P. Clarence 11.06.2025 45:53
D.P. Clarence is fun and funny but the BTS on reality TV is depressing.
Manic Pixie Dream Earl by Jenny Holiday 06.06.2025 36:13
This book really leans in to the "manic pixie" in such a fun way.
When the Marquess Needed Me by Lydia Lloyd 06.06.2025 40:54
Who knew we'd be so into a book about a man with insecurities about his penis?
Worldly and Temporal Things: The Dream Hunter 30.05.2025 56:24
Meg and Alex are joined by Harper St. George to discuss The Dream Hunter by Laura Kinsale.
The Lady Makes Her Mark by Susanna Craig 28.05.2025 30:14
Look, this series is totally adorable and this book in particular is really fun. It's one of those that comes close enough to great that the parts that fall short are more frustrating than they shold probably be because you're so mad it isn't perfect. I was too harsh in this episode, but only because it was sooo close to ideal.
A Delightful Deceit by Alexa Santi 25.05.2025 18:25
I'd be lying if I said this episode was anything other than Laine fangirling over Amelia Peabody and squealing about how much fun this novella is. Sethos-coded lost all meaning because it was said too many times.
Behooved by M. Stevenson 22.05.2025 30:06
Meg and Laine disagree about the amount of world building we want in a Romantasy, but agree that this book is super cute. Please uncancel My Lady Jane, someone.
