The Christian life is not what you think.

Religion is our attempt to work our way in good with God. That somehow, following all the rules gets me in with God. But if rules are the route to God, we are in big trouble because nobody can agree on the rules! And besides, whatever the rules are, we all know we fall short.

Do you have many sins or just a few? Before you answer "somewhere in the middle," today's message will challenge you to get off the fence. Because how we see our sin directly impacts how much we love Jesus.

You were created and brought into this world by the creator of the Universe with a calling and purpose for your life. But if we're honest, even if that's true, we're not that interested. We just want heaven on earth and heaven when we die. Don't we?

If we think about all the things that concern and worry us most, the root of it tends to come down to our focus being on our personal survival in maximum peace, pleasure, comfort and style. Yet, we never seem to be able to achieve it once and for all. Jesus offers us an alternative that will ultimately help us achieve what our heart most desires.

One of the most frustrating, distressing things in life is when our personal life, and the world in general, feels like it's spinning out of control. If we get this one thing right, everything else will take care of itself.

Enemy Embrace: There will be people who will consider us their enemies. We are called not to return the favor.

Shooting for the over-under-reaction. Our actions rarely tell the whole story, but our reactions most certainly do, especially when we feel afraid, hurt, or wronged. Jesus instructs us to leverage our reactions for good, but how?
