For the 283rd edition of our mix series we present the impervious Katya. Kindred resident and regular party starter, Katya has a love for all things electro. I wanted this mix to reflect the sort of sounds you may expect to see me play in a club setting at the moment — spooky techno & electro really do it for me, especially if there’s a vocoder involved, so my sets are always infused with a bit of...

"It has always been difficult for me to describe the kind of music I like to play, I guess it’s usually techno, electro or whatever. As we only have one word in Spanish for “genre” and “gender” it seems fitting that I try to listen beyond genre and see beyond gender, as we do on my label Bestiario Collective. Both language and location influence the way we perceive the world, and for this special...

“Straight out of the gates with peak time vibes for this one. Starting off with a wonky minimal gem from one of my favourites HearThug, cruising into some sexy electro before finishing with some smooth (and slightly silly)160. Hope you enjoy :)” @saoirsepatrisha
