LCC Sunday Messages

Have you ever stopped to thing about what it truly means to be a Christian? Have you ever pondered the words, "Christ in you, the hope of glory." What a statement! Today, we will look at what it means to be a Christian and to experience the life, love, hope, and joy that Jesus gives to all who put their faith in Him.

Some of us know what it means to reconcile a checkbook. It’s to ensure that our figures match the bank’s figures so that what we have going out is in agreement with what we actually have. To reconcile means to create agreement and harmony. However, more important than balancing our checkbook is our being reconciled to God; and this morning, we’re going to see that this is what Jesus has provided f...

In this world, so many live without peace, are dissatisfied, and search for something to fill their hearts. No matter where one goes in the world, that void will not be filled by anything made by man. True satisfaction, joy, and peace are only found in Jesus. To the Christian, Christ is everything. Christ reigns supreme. In Him, the fullness of God is expressed. Today, may we find ourselves awestr...

This morning we are embarking on a journey through the Epistle to the Colossians, where we will see that God can and will change the heart of anyone willing to turn to Him and walk humbly before Him. We’ll also see that holiness can not be achieved by rituals or what we eat or wear because we are made holy by turning to Christ, and show that Jesus rules in our life by our priorities and our love a...

Listen today to a powerful message on the importance of the missional mindset as Becca Forrester shares stories from her missions work in the Dominican Republic.

The power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is able to set the prisoner free from the chains that bind. Today, listen to an amazing testimony of grace and mercy as Robert Reyna shares about Christ's redemptive work in him after spending years in prison incarcerated.

Part 2: We have been examining our nation's godly heritage. Last week, we looked at the transition of the principle of "separation of church and state" from a means of protection of churches from government intrusion to a tool used by activist courts to remove any reference to Christian principle from government at any level. The current culture war may seem discouraging, but there is hope. Today,...

Part 2: Does America have a godly heritage? We've been trying to answer this question over the past several weeks. Today we will look at the American Revolution and how God moved providentially in the lives of the Founders and the rise of a nation.

As we continue our journey through America's spiritual heritage we move from the piety and purpose of the Pilgrims to the apathy of their offspring in just a few generations. Yet, God intervened through the First Great Awakening with a great revival, that greatly shaped the spiritual and political landscape for generations to come. Is such a revival possible today?

Part 3: Foundations matter. Whenever you set out to build something you must be sure to start with a good foundation. That's true of a house, a life, a community, or a nation. Today, we will examine the importance of building on a solid foundation and see how early America was built upon a biblical foundation.

Many who hear the word "history" often have a flashback to their school days. They think of dry, boring lectures about people and places from long ago. Did you ever ask, "Why are we studying this anyway?" However, history is so important and a proper understanding of the past helps us live better in the present and plan for the future. As we begin our new series "One Nation Under God?" we must sta...

Is there anything that God can not do? Not according to His Word. But could God’s plans ever be delayed or hindered because of a lack of cooperation on our part? Sounds absurd, doesn’t it, that we may be able to hinder the plans of the Mighty God? This morning we’re going to see if it is possible, and if it is,how to be sure we are cooperating with God, and not hindering His plans.

“Dad”- it’s an immensely powerful word no matter how old you are. This is because a father’s influence reaches beyond childhood; it spans generations. Fathers leave a soul-deep mark on their children and future generations. This morning, we’re going to see that God has provided men clear steps toward experiencing authentic manhood and becoming successful dads.

Opinions. We all have them. We all have ways of looking at and interpreting things, and most of us are quite comfortable with our opinions. However, when it comes to something as important as preparing for eternity, do we want to rely on our own opinion about how to get to heaven, or is there someone else’s opinion we should be listening to, like someone with authority?

Foundations matter. Don't believe it? Just try building anything on an unsure foundation. The teachings in the Sermon on the Mount are challenging, yet Jesus admonishes His followers to be wise and build their lives on the rock of His words. Today, let's play the building inspector role and check our foundations to be sure what we are building on will stand through the storms of life.

If someone asked you to explain the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Him, what would you say? Many people know about Jesus. Many even claim to believe in Him. However, as we’re going to see this morning, there is a vast difference between knowing about Jesus, and knowing Him, between believing in Him and following Him.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus admonishes those who would follow Him to beware. His followers are to be on the lookout for false teachers who lead people astray. He tells us today to inspect the fruit of these teachers to see if what they are saying contradicts the truth. Now more than ever, we must be prepared to hold on to sound doctrine.

In today’s passage, Jesus compares two different roads and two different gates. One is a broad road with a wide gate. The other is a narrow road with a small gate. What’s the difference? More importantly, upon which road are you?

As we continue are journey through the Sermon on the Mount, we come to the arresting words of Jesus in what is now known as the Golden Rule. This statement causes us to stop and really think about how we relate to one another as fellow human beings. Is it good enough to simply do no harm to others or are we to seek good for others out of a true love for Christ and people?

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. – Matthew 7:7-8 Our all wise Heavenly Father graciously desires to give us the blessings and benefits of His Kingdom. Yet, as we’ll see this morning, to ask, seek, and knock means more than si...
