Hangout With Chels

This is basically a couple of lessons that I have learned and am currently learning each day. It is a spin-off of the "What did you learn today" conversation that Dee and I have. It's a call to go through each day more alert. There is so much happening. Open your eyes to see.

I love to talk about Love, it is the reason why we exist, the reason why we have life here on earth, and the promise of eternal life. God's gift to us is salvation and eternal life, and that's a testimony to His Love for us. I really pray that we live out that love. You can catch me on IG @Sisichels or on Twitter @Helenchels

This sounds like a morbid title, but it is a reminder that we are called to die daily to self, to the things that keep us from giving our yes to God, die to our pride, to our self-righteousness and the list goes on. This year, I got my married friends to write letters to their spouses, and it is a testament to the love that they share, a beautiful, warm, and enduring love. Curating these letters has been the highlight of my day, and I am truly appreciative of it. For all the single pringles. You are truly loved.

For me, fear is a show of distrust and often times a reason not to try. I will fail so why bother trying but we are called to have Faith, to silence the nagging voice of fear, worry and doubt, to know that your Father is capable and dependable

29 is Here and with it all the fears that come with growing older and feeling inadequate. It's a reminder that I am loved for all eternity by Abba, that He beautifies my life and as I walk into this new age, it becomes a new season of rest and rejoicing.

No one likes to wait, if we can get it now why wait, however there are lessons to be learnt in a season of waiting, it becomes an opportunity to build up our faith and develop unwavering trust in God. We have come to the end of this season and as we journey through our season of waiting we can decide to wait with worry or rest in the knowledge that God's plans are always for our good.

Vulnerability scares us, it scares me. I saw it as a weakness and I hid myself from people because I didn't want to be taken advantage of, I wanted people to see me as strong and trust is difficult. But Abba says let me tear down the walls, drop the facade, I love you the way you are, open up to me. You don't need to keep struggling on your own.
