Franchise Deep Dive

We have finally left the spooky season for the brisk cold air of November, and what better way to kick it off than starting a new trilogy of films! Welcome back to Franchise Deep Dive, in this episode we are venturing to Europe to explore the Three Colors trilogy, starting with Three Colors Blue! In episode 34 we cap off the Evil Dead series with the most recent and arguably most successful film in the franchise, Evil Dead Rise! Come with us as we leave the secluded cabin in the woods and opt for a more urban apartment setting to face off against some more deadites. Join us one last time as we conclude this historic and iconic horror franchise to cap off the spooky season!

In episode 33 we move on from Raimi's trilogy and shift our focus to the 2013 evil dead remake from director Fede Alvarez. A much more bleak and straight forward return to horror than our last two installments. Join us for all the fun, blood, guts, and gore as we explore one of the better recent horror remakes! In episode 30 we embrace the spooky season by diving deep into the iconic Evil Dead franchise, starting with Sam Raimi's indie low budget masterpiece from 1981, The Evil Dead! Also available on youtube on the Former Film Student channel!

To close out the Friday the 13th series we head on up to space for Jason X where we meet a cyborg and Uber Jason, and also revisit the 2009 remake where the take a grittier approach to our favorite bald boy. We also cap off the series by ranking our favorite kills and ranking all 11 Friday the 13th movies! Take a trip with us to Chrystal Lake one more time!

In episode 24 we move on from shark infested waters and look towards a more "fantastic" story as we kick off our two part deep dive on the Fantastic Four series. In this episode we break down and discuss the two Tim Story directed Fantastic Four films! So stay tuned for a super episode!

In episode 23 we close out the Jaws franchise with Jaws 3-D and Jaws The Revenge. Both canonically the third Jaws movie... so that's fun.

In episode #22 we venture over to Amity Island, where a terrifying shark has made the local beaches his feeding ground, TWICE.
