Fate/moon archive

Today we’re covering a manga based on a drama CD based on the idea of some silly cross-timeline shenanigans between the cast of KNK, Fate/stay night, and Tsukihime. It’s a light read, so for most of the episode fen and Benn just argue about Otherside Picnic. Next time, we’ll be covering the first 3 weeks of the 2010 RPG, Fate/EXTRA! Well, we’re technically be covering right up to the route split;...

we watched too much anime for this one! come for the textureless late 2000s anime sludge, but stay for the funny and frank drama about dorky teens grappling with sexuality. next time, we’ll be covering the entirety of the all-around type-moon manga. for yuri teatime we’ll be covering the first two novels of otherside picnic (just the first omnibus if you have that). we’ll also be covering night of...

join your beleaguered hosts and our returning guest katherine as we attempt to find something worth talking about in the first two prisma illya series and the fate/ zero spinoff short heart of freaks! also, a jam-packed yuri teatime with a fantastic yuri(?) anime movie, a fraught but fun eroge, and the single worst altogether jam game we’ve covered yet! next time, we’ll be covering the entirety of...

It’s time for a little detour out of Type-Moon! We cover the first half of 428: Shibuya Scramble (stopping at the beginning of the 15:00 time block). Kidnappings! Corporate intrigue! Women trapped in mascot costumes! Too many fat jokes! Truly a game that has it all. Next time, we’ll be covering the rest of 428 Shibuya Scramble. For Yuri Teatime we’ll be covering the visual novel Midsummer Haze as...

We take a short dip into the Tsukihime universe with more Melty Blood! Happily we get a bit more of a plot this time around. We also talk about a cool vn, a great movie, and all the anime fen stopped watching recently. Next time, we’ll be covering a to be determined portion of 428: Shibuya Scramble. For Yuri Teatime we’ll be covering the visual novel Instant Death! Panda Samurai as part of the a|l...

Well… We gave up on DDD. For now! The translation was a bit too rough to justify pushing through. We’ll check in on everyone’s favorite mean femboy later on, when we have time to read it in Japanese. For now, we’re moving on to the ‘extra’ Kara no Kyoukai movies, which act as sort of distilation of the KNK we’ve seen so far, and a victory lap for the series. If you’ve listened to our coverage of T...

ddd starts off with... not a bang. more of a squelch? there are demons and cops and girls, oh my! and boys love! this is a packed episode full of nasu at his most self indulgent. and us at our most self indulgent as we talk about the year past with homo-tinted glasses. Next time, we’ll be continuing DDD with the remainder of volume 1, HandS.(R), HandS.(L), and formal hunt. We’ll also be covering t...

The boundless hubris of beloved co-hosts Benn and fen caused us to believe we could cover 150 chapters of manga, approximately 20 hours of visual novel, all the questions from our Zero coverage, and a post-strike movies catchup. That didn’t work out! Listen on for our appropriately frazzled holiday episode where we cover just the 100 Girlfriends manga, A Dream of Summer, and the Fate/Zero question...

Fate/ Zero volume 4 comes to a close at long last. All the fated showdowns that are contractually obligated to happen, happen! Kiritsugu uses his mind palace to kill more women! Shirou shows up for a bit! Next time, we’ll be holding a special Type-Moon-lite holiday episode! We’ll be covering the first two chapters of the visual novel Wonderful Everyday (Subahibi). For Yuri Teatime we’ll be coverin...

Fate/ Zero volume 4 opens with a peek at the good old days of Kiritsugu’s past! Then we quickly return to the chaotic last days of the Holy Grail War. All the pieces are set up for the end! Saber drives a motorcycle really fast! Kotomine gets into independent theater! Next time we’ll be finishing Fate/Zero with acts 15, 16 and the Epilogue of volume 4. That’s episode 22 to the end of the anime, pl...

Fate/ Zero volume 3 comes to a close with… I’m gonna be honest, I just edited this episode and I hardly care what happened in Fate/Zero this time. Some guys die I think. Anyway, Just 2 more Zero episodes left! Next time we’ll be continuing Fate/Zero with an interlude through act 14 of volume 4, and episodes 18-21 of the anime. For Yuri Teatime, we’ll be talking about the Puella Magi Magica Madoka...

Fate/ Zero volume 3 begins with acts 9 and 10, and we cover episodes 12-15 of the anime. Your charming hosts suffer as we reach what may be the worst Saber scene yet. The trial of our lifetime continues, here, on Fate/Moon Archive! Next time we’ll be continuing Fate/Zero with acts 11 and 12 of volume 3, and episodes 16 and 17 of the anime. For Yuri Teatime, we’ll be talking about We Know The Devil...

We finish Fate/ Zero volume 2 with act 8, as well as cover episodes 9-11 of the anime. What did we think of the Banquet of Kings? You’ll have to listen on to find out! Next time we’ll be continuing Fate/Zero with acts 9 and 10 of volume 3, and episodes 12-15 of the anime. For Yuri Teatime, we’ll be talking about Plain Song (visual novel), My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, Equestria Girls: Rainbow R...

We continue Fate/Zero with a chunk of volume 2 (up to and including act 7), as well as covering episodes 6-8 of the anime. And you might not know it from the beginning of our discussion, but it’s pretty good this week! Next time we’ll be continuing Fate/Zero with act 8 of volume 2, and episodes 9-11 of the anime. For Yuri Teatime, we’ll be talking about A Wint...

This week we take a break from reading to watch the 2006 Studio DEEN adaptation of Fate/stay night. But, since that’s pretty thin, we spend most of the time talking about the anime we’re watching this season, the first game in our year of micro-vns, and the excellent Revue Starlight in a packed yuri teatime! Next time we’ll be starting our journey through Fate/Zero! We’ll be covering the first hal...

That’s right, Hollow Ataraxia isn’t over yet! We return to the game one last time to clean up the remaining scenes, some bonus materials, and to cover the what very well may be the last explicit sex scenes in a Type-Moon game. It’s a mixed bag! Next time we’ll be covering the 2006 Studio DEEN adaptation of Fate/stay night in it’s entirety. We’ve got a loaded Yuri Teatime to make up for it, as we’r...

The main plot of Hollow Ataraxia comes to a close with the end of Avenger and Bazett’s story together. It’s good! It’s also so long we couldn’t fit any more the side stuff into this episode between the main plot and our yuri teatime block. Next time we’ll be covering everything else remaining in Hollow Ataraxia! That’s the rest of the daytime scenes, everything in Eclipse, the dev commentary Tohsa...

We get through another big chunk of Hollow Ataraxia! Lots more hangout scenes, lots of Saber eating various treats, and so on. We also finally get some insight into Bazett and Avenger’s fighting style, which turns out to be a lot more like a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fight then we expected. Next time we’ll be covering the rest Hollow Ataraxia’s main plot! We’re not touching the Eclipse stories or a...

We start with an incredible movie (please watch Funeral Parade of Roses), and then we have a discussion about hollow ataraxia that is all over the place but eventually settles down into something recognizable as a moon archive episode. Next time we’re covering up to just before the 5th Bazett section of f/ha. For Yuri Teatime, we’ll be discussing a selection of yamaji ebine including love my life...

Okay, bear with us here. The second chunk of the Melty Blood manga has basically nothing for us to talk about. The Caligula Effect novel on the other hand? Now that’s got some meat on it. Next time we’ll be beginning our journey through Fate/ Hollow Ataraxia. Um, I haven’t started it yet as I write this, so I have no guidance for how much we’ll be playing for next episode. Maybe just start it up a...

Deja vu again, as we cover the first act of the Melty Blood manga, which is a pretty straight up and down adaptation of the Hologram Summer route of the original fighting game. But, mostly, we’re using this episode as an excuse to have a nice long yuri teatime about The Caligula Effect: Overdose, the somewhat maligned game preceding the excellent Caligula Effect 2. Next time we’ll be covering the...
