Do you need professional representation? Whether actor, writer, filmmaker...sometimes it just comes down to making your own magic and avoiding the cynical industry landmines. From the smallest rep to the giants of WME and CAA...representation does not always guarantee employment.

1979's "Salem's Lot" could've been an exercise in pure Cynema, but despite its network TV trappings, it delivered a fun horror movie...something that was missing from its cynical 2004 remake and from a lot of horror today.

Should certain film never been released to home video and was it a cynical cash grab by the studios to dump them back in the early 80s? Is there something special about the theatrical experience that binds us nationally and culturally?

A look at the cynical practice of trailer "reviews" and why they mean nothing to the overall assessment of a full film's merit. Another cynical practice of using negativity, devoid of critical thinking to attract clicks, incite controversy and added to the toxic culture of The Internet.

Tom Holland's brilliant screenplay for this sequel was a roadmap to success. "Psycho II" is one of the greatest sequels to a classic film made but it didn't have to be. The bar was low at the height of the 80s slasher sub genre, but the filmmakers resisted Cynema.
