Continuum Drag

We're joined by our guest Will to explore the baffling TV movie/failed pilot Baffled!, starring the incomparable Leonard Nimoy. He's a swinging 70s lady man, professional race car driver and budding psychic who heads to jolly old England to solve a murder that hasn't happened yet via a series of trippy premonitions.

Almost Human reaches an end this week with a new serial killer, a trip to the Cubes, and a performance review for Dorian in episode 13. (Podcast Note: Almost Human was broadcast out of order and we have opted to watch it in the creator's intended order. As a result, our episode numbering reflects official IMDb episode listing and will look out of order and super wonky. Just go with it.)

This week, Almost Human gives us a peak into the lives of Rudy Lom and Capt Maldonado as the boys try a new algae-based street drug before getting a little court room drama that seems to be a pretty flimsy case in episodes four and five.  (Podcast Note: Almost Human was broadcast out of order and we have opted to watch it in the creator's intended order. Here is a little bonus content, where Jordan reads you a piece of Almost Human fan fiction.

In episodes two and three, Almost Human wanders into the gross inner workings of sexbots in the future before knocking-off Die Hard in all the best ways. (Podcast Note: Almost Human was broadcast out of order and we have opted to watch it in the creator's intended order. We start our most contemporary series to date, Almost Human. Featuring Karl Urban with his leg blown off and a Sensitive Soul-brand robot partner, who fight futuristic crime syndicates in a sci-fi police procedural that William Shatner should probably call his lawyers about. We wrap up the second half of The Invaders mini-series/failed pilot as it very awkwardly tries to wedge autism into its mythology of chain-smoking, environment-polluting alien invaders and their evil plot to stop a subway expansion.

Hosts Jordan and Luke watch the first part of a mini-series/failed revival of The Invaders. Starring Scott Bakula, part one reveals a sweeping alien conspiracy to smoke cigarettes and eat steak & eggs for every meal.

In the final two episodes of Galactica 1980, Troy and Dylan work on a farm (ee-eye-ee-eye-oh) before a bizarre final episode that ditches the entire cast of the series to bring back Battlestar Galactica's Starbuck for an unrelated stand-alone adventure.

In our New Years Day episode, returning guest Kevin joins us for a Halloween two-parter of Galactica 1980 where the Cylons come to Earth to hang out with Wolfman Jack at a house party in New York City. Also, we have some technical difficulties that make it sound like Kevin is joining us from inside a cave... Sorry, Kevin!

We hit the halfway point of Galactica 1980 in our holiday episode of Continuum Drag, where a fancy flying saucer brings dead Super Scouts back to life before they go off to win the big regional little league championship in episodes five and six.

As guest Stephen joins us this week, we finish the final installment in the first cycle of Galactica 1980 episodes before the entire series suddenly shifts gears and abruptly becomes a children's show featuring TWELVE new pint-sized characters in the first of another multipart episode.

We watch the first two episodes of Galactica 1980, the sequel to the original BSG, which starts off as a fish-out-of-water comedy about aliens adapting to 80s Earth culture before taking a hard right turn to somehow end up in 1944 Nazi Germany.

Hosts Jordan and Luke dive into the universe of The Warlord: Battle for the Galaxy (or The Osiris Chronicles, depending who you ask) which borrows liberally from Star Trek and Star Wars before it finally finds what its got going for it: A huge gross blob monster.

The end is here. We finish off Space: Above & Beyond with episodes 22 and 23, a two-parter that brings us face to face with the Chigs and their weird little babies. Also, someone dies!

Space: Above & Beyond cribs notes from history class as hosts Jordan & Luke are joined by returning guest Jane for re-imaginings of Operation Mincemeat and the Guadalcanal Campaign, Wild Cards-style.

This week on Space: Above & Beyond, hosts Jordan & Luke develop a theory of about a haunted tank and the Pleasure Ship Bacchus makes an appearance with some celebrity friends.

This week, we're joined by guest Sherren as West's kid brother shows for a family reunion and the Saratoga faces the crime of the century: what happened to Commodore Ross' strawberries?!?

It's a spooktacular Halloween episode as hosts Jordan and Luke watch the failed pilot/TV movie for The Omen, where a body-jumping supernatural parasite tries to ruin Boston's St. Patrick's Day parade.

Space: Above & Beyond hits its high water mark with episodes 14 & 15 as we face the Wild Card's greatest enemy, Chiggy Von Richthofen, and get to know the newest (and possibly best) member of the 58th: the horny AF Lt. Winslow.

Returning for the second half of Space: Above & Beyond, Luke tests Jordan's psychic abilities and we watch a live Tank birth in the twelveth and thirteenth episodes of the season.

We're joined by guest Kevin to explore the world of Gene Roddenberry's failed pilot/TV movie Genesis II, where a mustache from the past wakes up in a post-lust society and goes nuclear.
