THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy rehash Fox's Tongue and, by the end of it, know about 65% of what just happened. BUT we are here to deliver all of our wisdom from the book so you may know more about what's going on!! And, in the beginning, we discuss our own Gypsy Rose experience and whether cottage cheese is only for old people. Thanks for joining our club!

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Join us as we recap part one of Fox's Tongue and Kirin's Bone by Allison M. Kovaks! If you haven't heard of this book, we highly recommend it. And we especially recommend listening to our recap as you read to help sift through the many moving parts of this tale. In the author summary, Candice doesn't talk at all about Allison Kovaks and instead explains al...

In this VERY special episode the Bookalicious sisters have their first ever podcast GUEST(s) from The Kindred Kindles Podcast with Krystin & Taylor. The girls discuss all things Freida McFadden (SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1 + 2 OF THE HOUSEMAID), true crime, and pop-culture references only Candice (and I'm certain all the listeners) know. Thank you for joining our club and make sure to visit Kindred Ki...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Join us as we read the childhood classic (and the beginning of the fantasy genre as we know it??) The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald! We begin with a (very) detailed biography on George MacDonald (had a farm?) before summarizing the book and then sharing our thoughts on the plot, the princess, Lootie, and goblin feet (among other things). We would love to hea...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In the final part of The Housemaid's Secret, Freida McFadden jumps out of her spaceship and into another one as she lands this story in a way we never could have guessed. We've got LOTS of thoughts on the final murder that went down, the Spirit of Killie, and how super-ninja Marybeth learned all her skills on the car ride over. We have many questions for Freida and even d...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Another Housemaid, another rocket ship! Candice and Chrissy discuss how this mystery is unfolding, including: - How does Millie get bamboozled so easily? - Why is BrockBot such a bad lawyer? - Why is Wendy a better assassin than Millie? - Will Enzo join forces with Millie, Bonnie and Clyde style, or is he actually playing double agent? - And, most importantly- Is this ser...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In a hilarious twist, Candi and Chrissy jump off Frieda's spaceship and onto their own rocket as they go off the rails on their theories about Killie Millie. Who are the five bullets for? Does master-mind Wendy try to hypnotize Millie with a gun? Is Brockolli actually a robot who will short-circuit in the rain?? And, "Where did they go wrong?", a new game that lasts the e...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK After much anticipation, the Bookalicious girlies take on Freida McFadden's sequel to The Housemaid - The Housemaid's Secret. The sisters postulate if Millie is going back to school not for her CV but her KV (killer vitae) as she disposes of bad husbands in the Hudson River, if Millie's boyfriend Brock is an undercover FBI agent or a Robot, wonder if Wendy Bird Garrick is...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy wrap up God of the Woods and figure out they were completely right on all of their predictions!!!! Just kidding- Candi had a few good guesses, but Chrissy was holding onto her Bear-Alive theory too tightly to have guessed anything else. We manage to still squeeze in the Math Academy theory for good measure, though, should there be a sequel to GOTW. We...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK "How serendipitous- a serial killer." In a wild penultimate episode, the girls spitball every theory they can think of in hopes of being right, including: - Has Bear been in Auntie Delphine's mathelete training academy so he can re-emerge into society and take over the bank? - Have Lee, TJ, and Barbara put together an elaborate plan with years of preparation...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In Part 2 of our investigation of God of the Woods, the sisters talk all about their conspiracy theories of Denny Hayes, love-drug-triangle with JP-Barb-Lee, and the big bad Van Laars. Just as importantly, we have a few words to say to the real mystery of Penguin Random House (or as we now like to call it, Random Penguin House). Thanks for joining our club!

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Chrissy's mic isn't working (again) but that doesn't stop us from what may be the biggest celebration in Bookalicious history- one full year of podcasting!! Candice and Chrissy take a (20 minute) stroll down memory lane and reminisce on the best of times (our forever favorite, Elantris) and the not-so-best of times (sorry Bonnie G.) on the pod. Wanna be part o...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK The ladies finish one of their favorite books yet, Flowers for Algernon! They discuss all the things, including: - Why doesn't Charlie introduce himself to Matt? - Do Rose and Norma get their just desserts? - How do we like those bakery boys at the end? - Are the two Charlies the conscious and sub-conscious mind? - Who are the three blind mice?? Plus, our first ever r...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Tragedy, oh tragedy! Candice and Chrissy begin the timeless tragedy, Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. We discuss some of life's greatest questions such as: - Was Charlie in paradise before or after his surgery? - Was Miss Kinnian taking advantage of Charlie in their relationship? - Fact or Fifties: It was normal to beat your kids to learn them a thing or two - An...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In this nearly 2 hour extravaganza, Candice and Chrissy hash out all the delicious happenings in the life of Addie LaRue. Some favorite topics discussed are: - Is Henry the boringest person ever? - What would you do if you were in Henry's shoes and why didn't he solve world peace? - Was it even a sacrifice for Addie to sign the rest of her eternal life away to be...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In LaRue Part 2, the ladies discuss all their burning questions about this book, including: - How are Luc and Henry related? Is Henry just Luc with colored contacts? - If you could go back to Day 1 and live Addie's original, normal life, would you? - Why are Henry's friends jerks? - What the heck is going to happen next?!? This was *almost* going to be our shortes...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK ATTENTION: No explicit spoilers but some allusion to concepts covered in episode 2 (parts 2+ 3) The Bookalicious sisters tackle the slightly too long book of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab. Candice has vetted the book ahead of time so even though it feels a little slow she promises that it will pick up as we go. The sisters make predictions, wonder how Add...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK In this grand finale of our (second? least?) favorite childhood book, Candice and Chrissy go in circles about how much they loathed or loved this book! We need to know- Was Ijori a good for nothing flopper or a redeemed heart throb? Does the gnome-ish sense of justice (i.e., Ivi never had her comeuppance) ruin the book? Should Aza have fled into the sunset, found her gnom...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK The girls love Gail Carson Levine SO much that they continue the Gail Train and read Fairest. Things get dicey though on this latest read, though, and Fairest may fall from the ranks as #2 childhood favorite book (Ella is of course #1 forever). Some things discussed in this episode: - Is Aza really ugly? Is she Kimmy K 2.0 or is she the pale guy from The Princess Bride ?...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy wrap up possibly the twisty-est book ending yet! Candice catches Chrissy up on the past 12 years of pop culture references, including: Young Kanye filming himself for future documentary when he makes it big (a la Evil Erin filming Evie 24/7??) Paris Hilton's abusive boarding school (inspiration for Evie's retreat center??) Chrissy, meanwhile, c...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy continue the mystery of SABI and still have no idea who the big bad is!! That doesn't keep them from spitballing new theories and making other crazy comparisons with classics such as The Housemaid and Abducted in Plain Sight . Candi also makes a reference to Lady Whistledown which completely went over Chrissy's head, but now that she's read...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy tackle the first six chapters of Olivia Muenter's debut novel, Such a Bad Influence. They love it so much they skip the banter and get right into it! During the author recap, we discover Candi had the same childhood as Olivia and throughout the book we have fun seeing the fingerprints of 90's life (a la no bread). We theorize who the big bad is...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy finish up their favorite childhood book and discover it's only gotten better with age. Some topics of interest include: Does Mum Olga remind you more of Quina or of Barbara Jean ? Who's a worse father, Sir Peter or Count Olaf? Why don't Ella and Mandy run away earlier? How does Ella run not just in heels, but with only one heel?!? And, an e...

THIS IS NOT AN AUDIO BOOK Candice and Chrissy fangirl over their hero, Gail Carson Levine, and their favorite childhood book Ella Enchanted. We learn just what a Newberry is, discuss whether Ella was invading everyone's privacy with her fairy book and who the real villain of the story is. Mainly, though, we just gush over how much we love this book. We hope you love it too! Book cover Chrissy...
