Bible in the News

As tensions boil over in the Middle East, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have once again been pulled military into the region. Reluctant as some of them may be to support Israel, they have had no choice but to lend their support to the region to defend their shipping interests. As the biblical "ships of a Tarshish", they have been called upon to protect the re...

This week we look at the destiny of the peoples of Lebanon in Bible prophecy in the light of rising tensions in the region.

Examining the Biblical Evidence around the True Identity of Jesus

In a Policy Analysis for the Washington institute, Matthew Levitt writes the following: “ As details emerge of potential direct links to the attack on Israel, one thing is clear: Hamas would not have been able to plan and conduct such an operation without years of Iranian training, Iranian weapons, and hundreds of millions of dollars in Iranian funding ”. While the exact nature of Iran...

We are beginning to see the cooling of relations between Russia and Israel as we would expect from Bible Prophecy.

The Abraham Accords brought peace between Israel and some Arab states, but could they also help to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well?  Israel will not be living in the peace and safety spoken of in Ezekiel 38 until there is peace within its own territory. Many see the conflict as unsolvable - but the prophecy says that Israeli will live in peace at the time just prior to Christ...

All over the world we are witnessing an outbreak of abominable antisemitism. Reports of these incidents have been heard to some extent on the media, but I have seen more reports on social media and even heard personal stories. Rather than taking a firm stand to stomp it out, little is being done to eradicate it. Even western governments, who in some cases may have made some bold statements, in pra...

God has  been building a nation in the land of Israel out of families that have been gathered from all nations of the world. The current crisis is a direct challenge to the work of the Creator in restoring the nation of Israel to the land. David Billington explores the Bible's answer of Hope to the current crisis in the land during this week's Bible in the News, Part 2 of a special series giv...

The past month has seen horrific attacks on the nation of Israel. Israel has responded with resolve in the Gaza Strip. Many are wondering what the outcome will be. The Bible provides answers to what has been happening and what will shortly come to pass in the whole region, specifically the land of Israel. This week's Bible in the News is a special lecture John Billington gave on Thursday, November...

Hamas is an organization dedicated to the destruction of the Jews so that the land of Israel might be theirs alone, from the river to the sea.  The Palestinian Authority in the West Bank celebrates in Hamas' horrific pogrom against Jews and calls on its people to join in the bloodshed.  The "innocent civilians" have voted these bloodthirsty people into power, and call for the wrath of Go...

The war between Israel and the Hamas terrorists is capturing all of the headlines again this week. In this episode of Bible in the News, we dive deep into what some of the recent developments mean in the light of Bible prophecy.

In the 21st century on October 7th, 2023 our world witnessed a horrific pogrom where. Israeli men, women, children, and elderly were brutally murdered in the most grotesque manner.   The devastating count of those killed is reported to be over 1300, with thousands more injured.   Not since the Holocaust have so many Jews been massacred in one day.   And whereas the Nazis did much to...

The last week has been distressing, shocking and dramatic as Israel has been plunged into an terrible crisis and forced to go to war for its existence. This is David Billington. I've created this post on Bible in the News, as a place to put articles or videos of particular interest to our readers on an ongoing basis. Regular weekly updates to Bible in the News will continue as normal, God willing.

American financial support for Ukraine was stripped from the US budget this past week, but that is only the tip of the iceberg for Ukraine. The decline of its population and simply running out of soldiers is causing its ability to defend itself to collapse. Even the world's media must concede the battle is all but lost. The Bible has clearly stated Russia will be supreme in Europe at the time of t...

We are living in the time of the end, in perilous times when the love of self rules the day. Bible based morality is under attack around the planet and parents are losing their ability to teach Biblical morality in their own homes. They are outlawed from “training up their children in the way they should go” and having say in their own children’s morality – at any age.

Ever since the Abraham Accords were originally announced in the summer of 2020, when the UAE and Bahrain made peace and recognized Israel, there’s been a trickle of rumors regarding the possibility of Saudi Arabia, the spiritual heart of the Muslim faith, doing the same and making peace and beginning relations with the Jewish State. Over the last few weeks this trickle of rumors has become a...

(Audio to be added later today.) On September 9, the G20 leaders unveiled an Israel-Saudi Arabia rail link plan, which is "part of a broader project to build a transport link between India, the Middle East and Europe,” according to the Globes news website. Globes explains:

Last week the Pope made a video address to the 10th All-Russian Catholic Youth Assembly in St Petersburg in Friday, during which in he urged the young people to view themselves as descendants of the Russian Empire.

We caneexpect Saudi Arabia to be working in and around the region of Israel and the Middle East when the great Northern Invasion prophesied in the Bible before Christ's return takes place. Recent events indicate a warming of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia is happening now.

Global population levels are in serious, steep, accelerating and seemingly irreversible declines with profound consequences likely, while Israel continues to grow apace.

There is a Generation... “There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor fr...
