Anime Doubleplay

Thomas powwows with his semi-non-anime friends and they discuss the ending to Attack on Titan a year later. Even for non-anime fans, the show still maintains a legacy.

We are so excited about the Fall season, we are jumping the gun and talking about it early because BLUE LOCK? NATSUME YUUJINCHOU? DANDADAN? What will you be watching?

Our good friend Murph joins us on the pod to give some us his recent manga recommendations! And Mary watches slice of life...and has opinions.

We talk about our time hosting panels, meeting friends, and buying stuff at Connecticon. And we try to find something good to watch this summer season. We are struggling.

Old season out, new season in! We talk finales, Anime Expo news, and the new summer season! Which is ok...probably.

Thomas debriefs us on 20th Century Boys, we divide up our manga to decide which ones Thomas can take for his new house, we cry over Kumiko, Mary does the anime heardle, and we challenge our community to recommend us some seasonal anime this time around. And, finally, we finish our Angel Beats watchalong.

We talk about the Haikyuu movie, some of our favorite manga moments, and how sometimes, when you need a good friend, THEY'RE REALLY MEAN TO YOU!

We draft our dream volleyball teams using the Haikyuu cast. Who will come out with the best team? And Mary has a short but necessary ramble on I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.

Thomas likes all the hashira, so much that he knows all of them by name! And we invite you to...you guessed it...watch anime with us! Preferably Angel Beats, but we can also watch whatever you want.

What are the most hated anime MCs of all time? Or in their respective anime? Or...anywhere? We don't know but we're about to find out!

Back from their trip, Mary and Thomas talk about the Miku Expo and the SpyxFamily movie, as well as the manga they picked up while they were away. And, of course, we need to talk about that new and weird Kaijuu no. 8 opening!

When is it appropriate to remake a show? When is it unnecessary and a money grab? Ganon11 joins in on discussing Spice and Wolf, Brotherhood, and a bunch of other anime remakes. Are they worth it?

Spring has sprung and we want Kumiko to get with the semi-lame trombone player. What's wrong with that? We also dive into some other new series and...well...we're really excited for the rest of the season to finish debuting.

We dive into the Spring 2024 season, which is completely stack!! But before that, we gave one another the best manga recommendations, so listen to us gush over old stuff, gush over new stuff, and gush over stuff we haven't seen it. It's a fan fest, folks!

Thomas breaks down his Merry Manga Co shopping spree, we support our boy Lihaku, and we discuss and congratulate the winners for the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Final Fantasy VII is out!! And Thomas compares and contrasts the manga and anime versions of A Silent Voice. As one of his favorite movies, how will he like the source material?

We review ANN's favorite romance anime and make our own list of our bests and brightest...try to make a list...make a list?

A Sign of Affection is the anime of the season and no one can say otherwise. We are diggin' this show so hardcore; it doesn't make any sense.

We discuss our picks for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards! What did you vote for?

Our top five anime of the year! Did your favorites make our list?

We are back, ringing in the new year with our recommendations for the new season and saying goodbye to 2023's fall selection.

The good sir Ganon11 joins in for a deep dive on the weekly anime this season and bring a post from r/anime that we try to figure out. What's harder than regular math? Internet anime math.

It really happened. It's really over. Hear our takes on the somewhat divisive ending to the anime that defined a generation, Attack on Titan.

We are in awe of Jujutsu Kaisen's animation and art direction recently...and Reddit's Top 25 Anime Movies List. Go internet, pretty good selection.

Thomas reads some smut and we test each other's knowledge of good, bad and weird anime quotes!
