This week we begin our foray into the WB network's animated series with the Animaniacs, a sketch comedy cartoon in the vein of Loony Toons.

Both the name of a wonderful period of time in school and a TV show, Recess is up this week. Paige and I worked tirelessly on an Ocean's 11 style plan to bring you this episode full of weirdly sophisticated playground societies and other oddities this week.

This week we finish up with the amazing Gargoyles. As is appropriate for a Halloween spoopy episode, we spend a lot of time talking about our villains and the magical mythos that Gargoyles uses to create a great show!

Disney gives us many shows, but none so dark and magical as the original show Gargoyles. We hop into this multilayered and complex cartoon, all the while talking about how sexy the bi-con Elisa Maza was and the coolest villain name ever (XANATOS!)

This week we go a bit deeper into The Proud Family and explore problematic economic and relationship politics communicated in the show. Thanks for listening and find us also on iTunes!

We are proud to present the first episode centering on the Disney Channel original show The Proud Family. Our discussion this episode centers on setting the stage to understand the contributions the show gave to animated TV while also carefully examining just how certain aspects of the show advance problematic themes and behaviors. For example, why does this family hit each other so much?

Off hiatus and ready to bring back all the fun of cartoons with all the depth and wit we can muster. This week we speak about Courage the Cowardly Dog, why it's a great show even after all this time and why it still creeps us out.

We couldn't pack all the cute action into just one episode, so this week we return to Townsville, a place of perpetual danger, heroism, wanton destruction and bureaucratic incompetence. We focus on our Neutral and Good characters, chaotic they may be, this week since we mostly spoke about our villains last week.

Our topic of discussion this week is the massively fun superhero romp, The Powerpuff Girls, originally featured on Cartoon Network. We talk about villains, what constitutes "creepiness" and the sometimes questionable ethics of our child heroes. We begin our next series with one of Cartoon Network's most well-known and successful shows, Dexter's Laboratory (la-bore-ah-tory). Paige and I discuss the show chalk full of nerdy culture and nuclear families (though maybe not the kind of nuclear that Dexter has in mind!). Join us and let us know what you think!

After a busy couple of weeks Paige and Chris are back delivering the same enthusiasm and analysis you've come to find on our show. This week we finish up with our 3rd classic Nickelodeon show, Doug. We have a slightly longer episode this week, but we are only doing on show on Doug as, you will find, Doug is like the Moscato of cartoons.

This week Paige and Chris finish up talking about Hey Arnold! We discuss addiction, war, the tragedy of Miriam and just how much we still love Helga.

Paige and I sit down to discuss one of our new old favorite shows, Hey Arnold! We take a look at this character driven show and it's amazingly rich setting and cast. There are laughs, there are tears, and there is an amazing talented, mean girl we both love. Also, there are only 2 types of eyebrows: Uni-brow, or no brow.

Paige and I continue and finish our discussion of Rugrats. Note: We are aware of the very occasional echo, and our usage of "like" and "um" as fillers, and will be working on it as we move through our shows. Thanks for your continued support!

Paige and I sit down to talk about the Rugrats, adult references, and some bougie suburb parents. Hop on the nostalgia train and feel like you're in the 90's again, where synthy music is on the rise, babies are allowed to free roam around dangerous places like the post office and community pool, and we see the prototype of the anxious helicopter parent in their natural habitat.
