A Sure Hope

Throughout history, although there have been many wars and other troubles, we also see different eras of peace and prosperity. I think there comes a point in all of our lives when we throw up our hands and say, “I can’t do it anymore”. God blesses in a way that is supposed to leave us in “awe” at what He’s done. So that in return we will go out and bless others in His name, displaying His character. It’s really hard, living in a society that has us believing that more is better and better is best, to really sit down and be thankful for what we already have. In this message, Pastor Dave will teach us the importance of contentment and being extremely thankful for the life we live. Understanding that every blessing is a gift from God.   

Do you remember the story of Noah? Remember how the whole world thought he was crazy for building a boat for all the rain that God had yet to bring? Reflecting on God as joy and seeking Him earnestly when everthing else is crashing down will give you a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Today, Pastor Dave teaches that God will never leave us in our time of need. We are his children, and He is a good father who wants to take care of us.  

Satan will take advantage of us any chance he gets. When we’re going through difficult times, the enemy will always try his best to fill our minds with lies and confusion in an effort to pull us away from God. Today, Pastor Dave teaches us the importance of thirsting for God and having total reliance on His strength.         

There is nothing that God can’t handle; there’s no burden too heavy for Him to carry. God’s Word tells us that His strength is found in our weakness, and through His strength we can do all things. Today, Pastor Dave teaches that God wants us to pour our hearts out to Him, allowing Him to pour back into us.             

Faith is an ongoing commitment to place our trust in God’s promises, allowing Him to be our help and our shield. It’s waiting and trusting in His perfect timing, even when circumstances are difficult and the weight feels overwhelming. Today, Pastor Dave teaches us that our faith must not be conditioned solely on answered prayers.           

Praying for others and those whom we care about is an important way to bear one another’s burdens. It’s an act of service that builds love and community while trusting in God’s power to heal and make new. There is a sense of peace and hope when we cry out to the Lord. It’s a surrender that acknowledges the Lord’s divine nature and ability to overcome struggles that we can’t fix on our own. It can be difficult not to let our failures keep us from our Heavenly Father, afraid that our mess-ups make us unworthy of His love. Today, Pastor Dave teaches us that the trials we go through are meant to draw us closer to the Lord. Through each one, God is molding and shaping us into Jesus' likeness just as He intended.       

The Word tells us that Jesus is with us always, even to the end of the age. His presence is always there, always with us. He is never distant; rather, He is intimately involved in everything we do. Today, Pastor Dave teaches us that this truth is one that, as believers, we should lean into , being filled with comfort and hope.    

No one likes to wait. In the grocery store line or in traffic, waiting can be so frustrating. It feels like a waste of time. Yet today, Pastor Dave encourages you to wait. He tells you that sometimes, you must wait for the Lord to act rather than taking matters into your own hands. Waiting for Him is proof you trust Him. 

If you have kids or you have been around kids, you know they can be annoying. The constant questions can be endearing, but after a while, they get irritating. Today, Pastor Dave assures you that God never gets tired of hearing from His children. He always loves to hear from you!

We’re all influenced by the people around us. When those influences are ungodly, it can be tempting to follow their lead. Today, Pastor Dave reminds you that, like King David, you can pray for God’s protection from the wickedness of others and trust Him to keep you steadfast in the truth.
