The Magicians (same word used in Daniel) were professionals who communicate with the gods, summoning demonic power but also with deception "their arts". Soon they realize they can't keep copying and now know they are in the presence of real Power! 

God is grieved by man's sinfulness. He is not indifferent to sin. This seems to signal a change but we know that God is unchanging. However. He is capable of an emotional response - the Father loves the Son, for example.

This is an obscure text even to Martin Luther. The verb is going/ascending not descending. Human spirits in prison doesn't hold up from the language used instead He is preaching to the fallen angels/demons and declaring His victory over sin, death and hell.

Holy things have to be handled with holiness. It was clear the Ark had to be moved but none of the instructions on how to move it were followed. But Obed is blessed by treating the Ark correctly. Read "The Holiness of God" R.C Sproul

Jude 14 is a quote from I Enoch. Many were familiar with this book and Jude uses it to advance a point he is making and it will resonate with the audience. We see that the unpious get judged.

These are both intertestamental books and not considered part of the canon except by the Roman Catholic Church. We should probably read them as devotional speculation. If you do read them, you will see how they do not read like the canonical books of the Bible. Interesting but not to be taken too seriously.

The Gospel writers also quote the Old Testament numerous times to point to Jesus as the fulfillment of scripture. They are interpreting the Old Testament in a new way in respect to Jesus the Christ.

Luke 24:13, 24-27 Redemption and how it happens is seen many times in the OT, Exodus passing through the sea, etc. Redemption is a big HOPE and PROMISE. Hope has a positive effect on the entire world.

What does fulfillment look like? The Word of God is to be established/completed. Jesus invokes the Old Testament with the use of the 10 commandments language.

To understand ourselves, we have to start with God. Jesus shows us how to live as God. We see God as the creator of humanity, male and female. God makes life. We are to fill Earth with life. Matthew 5:27 Jesus is speaking about lust in this passage. Lust can separate us from our spouses and Jesus when it becomes central to our lives. No sacrifice of anything that separates us from Jesus is too great. The only route forward is to obey Jesus. 

Whether physical or spiritual swords, we need to be gentle Gospel sharers. Always handle the Gospel in an honorable way.

Pay attention to the adjective/adverb discussion, it is quite insightful. A man after God's own choosing - 1 Samuel 8 They got what they asked for Deut 17 The repentance of David is critical to  understanding this phrase. Jesus is very clear on this.

Don't let the names trip you up! They have a purpose for the book they are in. Resist the temptation to skip the genealogies, they are an acquired taste. Remember God's plan and faithfulness are on display!

Adam is referred to in the New Testament by Jesus and Paul confirming his existence. Genesis testifies to the one and only God from the first verse and we see the world as good. God entrusts us with responsibility for His creation.

The text often refers to itself and explains the passage. The ideal Bible reader is the rereader. Use resources like a study Bible or online searches. Don't exaggerate the significance of a word or passage. Be on guard of putting yourself above the Bible!
