Sal La Rocca

Un tout nouveau quartet formé par le contrebassiste Sal La Rocca. Ayant l’ardent plaisir de tisser des liens forts entre différentes générations de musiciens, Sal a choisi de très jeunes talents vivant en Belgique, et pour cette occasion il constitue un nouveau répertoire de compositions originales, prouvant par ce choix que le mélange générationnel peut générer de superbes résultats.

A brand new quartet formed by bassist Sal La Rocca. With the ardent pleasure of forging strong links between different generations of musicians, Sal has chosen very young talents living in Belgium, and for this occasion he is creating a new repertoire of original compositions, proving by this choice that generational mixing can generate superb results.

I just wanted to evoke the long drive by a winding road that leads to Osuna near Malaga in Spain.

The project explores a certain duality. First, by the presence of Flemish and Walloon musicians; then, by the apparent opposition between avant-gardism and tradition.
