The Home Video Hustle

Our Patron Seth Blackwell has us dive back into the world of weird, art films and he even joins us to try and figure out just what the hell this even is. Chris and I have never seen it, Anita is out this week and we had to ask Seth on multiple occasions, "WHY?" Being from Ohio, this film did intrigue Chris and I but disappointed us both when we found out it wasn't actually filmed there! Some of ou...

Thanks to Patreon, we all get to fill a hole in our pop culture knowledge as none of us have ever seen The Warriors. A movie with a rabid cult fanbase and loved by rappers all over, can it be any good in 2024? We kept straight with the movie this week, not a ton of side convos but we did get Anita singing for a second, Trade Voorhees gets some play with his new EP that just dropped, and Dell made...

Thanks to our supporter Kevin Rodriguez, we get to go back in time and review a film that none of us have watched in a real long time. For the first time in a while, we all had wildly different thoughts about the movie and one of us may have some torches and pitchforks coming their way. We also discuss if we would go back in time if given the opportunity, how different this movie could've played o...

So, I have avoided this film for 22 years but because of Anita and Chris, I have to finally watch it. As a kid, I had no interest in the American Jackie Cham films (other than Rush Hour) and I didn't watch any of them. I expect the worst but i'm being open. It also helps that PJ is with us this week! In true HVH style, we break the movie down and discuss other things like, do clothes really make t...

Alien was so good that Anita and Chris couldn't wait to watch the next movie! Even better is that Chris came out to visit us here in Cali, so all three of us are on the mic in person again, like old times. I was brimming with anticipation for them to see the first 10 minutes of this movie and if you know why, you know. Anita and I also went to see Alien: Romulus and give quick thoughts, we hip Ani...

I get to show Chris his first Brandon Lee film and I get to re-analyze this movie after previously reviewing it on the Old Man Orange Podcast about five years ago! A buddy cop movie with decapitations, neck snaps, spin wheel death explosions, water hoses down the throat and weird lines from Brandon Lee for sure has to be a fun time right? We also reminisce on the old days playing Mortal Kombat II...

The spirit of PJ lives on because like him, apparently Chris and Anita haven't seen anything either. This is a first time watch for them both and Chris had never even watched the original, so he gives his review of that film as well. This was a staple of my childhood, the same way the Harry Potter movies were staples of theirs, so let's see if they can come around to Aliens like I did for some of...

Chris and i are on the mic this week and thanks to our supporter, Scott Widney, I get to check out a flick that has been on my radar for a while now but I juts never got around to. I don't know what was up with me this day but I was on one. Went into several rants like in the old days of the podcast, talking about people spoiling movies online, streaming services being trash, home media being wack...

The patrons have spoken once again and this time, the homie Nick wanted us to watch the 1989 karate flick, "Best of the Best." Always saw this movie playing on HBO as a kid but never actually checked it out. Very curious to see just how much karate Eric Roberts is about to throw down with! Because of a bicycle scene in the film, we all discuss our trials of learning to ride a bike, I have question...

Mario gifts us with his next Patreon pick this week and I've actually never seen Horror Express; it was on my entirely too long list of movies to get around to one day. I was able to talk Anita into watching this horror film since it was light on jump scares. The movie was slightly hard to follow at points, but we got through it and the final thoughts may shock you! I also got to hip Anita to a bu...

I've been quoting this movie for a long time, or rather singing one of the songs from this movie for a long time. I had never actually watched the movie though.. That changes today. It's a comedy film and a hip hop film, so I got to be a music nerd for a bit, Cameron calls into the show and talks of his love for house shoes, Chris gives his opinion on some albums from 2007, weird stories from Wing...

Uwe Boll has somehow escaped the Home Video Hustle for years but finally we get to fix that. Far Cry is one of my favorite video game series' but I have to see if it makes a good film. You may actually be surprised by some of our opinions on the film, and Uwe even gets a bit of a defense at one point. I also have some shoutouts to give this week and screw it, I showed myself some love this week be...

WHAT?!? Brent's never seen Superman?!? Yes, and to make it better, I've never seen any of the original Superman films! That gets fixed today! Can I find appreciation for the boy scout now that I am not the edgelord I was in my youth? Will Lois Lane fare better with Anita than Jean Gray did last episode? Will Chris ever let go of his anger for the TV Flash not being used in the Flash film? These qu...

Man, I haven't seen this since I was a kid. My dad took Cameron and I to see this in the theater and was more hype than us, I'll tell you all about it. We'll also give you our thoughts on the film 24 years later, Chris tries some bacon flavored soda, Anita gives her thoughts on Rush Hour 2 after seeing it for the first time in a while, I dish out some hard truths about Wolverine and I also can't u...

Somehow, Anita had never watched Terminator 2 but that got fixed today! We also have a special guest on the mic with us and there is a whole story behind it, full of deception! I decided to have us watch the extended cut for this episode, may not have been the best idea but you'll hear all about it. We also discuss who would win in a race, the T-1000 or Tom Cruise, the old Pepsi sweepstakes where...

Trade Voorhees joins the show once again and he brings a movie with him! Neither Chris nor I have ever heard of Killing Spree but luckily, it was easy to find... It's a wild movie and we had a lot to talk about, especially that scene where the main actresses head turns into a big pair of lips and she gives "head" to a guy and his head starts to shoot out white, milky fluids. It's a wild movie. We...

Back in 2009, I was graduating high school and watching this film in the theater. I hated it. So much that I never watched it again...Until now! I had Anita check out the original movie first, so she gives her quick thoughts on that one. Chris tries hard to help us through this terrible plot and Anita caused a whole tangent that probably got used as the clip for this episode. Oh, and this film may...

I couldn't hold off any longer, I had to know if I'm by myself in saying that this movie is better than the original. Like before, they have never seen this movie before either! Since they weren't blown away by the original, maybe the City Hunter can make them super fans of Predator. Also in the episode, we hear about Anita's extreme dislike for a certain actress, Chris gives a review of Madame We...

You want a podcast? I'll give you a podcast! It's been years but we are finally getting back to the residences full of evil and we watched what was always my favorite film in the series! Will that change? There are only three Hustlers left this week, Anita, Chris and myself. We don't know where PJ is. If you can't tell from reading this summary, I am a huge RE nerd and I definitely had some compla...

There is a lot going on this week and since I don't want to leave you with no episode, I dug into the Patreon vault and pulled out one of our hypest episodes. I got PJ to watch a bunch of episodes of Soul Train and like a typical music filled episode, it went WAY longer than it was supposed to. I hope you enjoy this look back into the vault and i'll have something new for you next week! Learn more...

Somehow Chris and Anita have never seen Predator! It's time to change that because Predator is a classic...Or is it? We all may not agree. I definitely have an opinion on this film that most never agree with me on. PJ also stopped by for a little bit but he had actually watched Predator before! We debate on what Schwarzenegger's best one liner is, our favorite "sweaty" action movies, Chris has som...

It's been 7 years of Hustlin'! We got a real special episode this week because not only are we finally doing Black Caesar...PJ IS BACK!!! We got him back this week and even though he didn't see the movie, we had a lot to talk about. We discussed the good and bad of the film, the ending left some of us angry, a scene killed the momentum of the film for all of us and we had to show love to that soun...

Until this day, all I have ever seen of Robin Hood was that quick scene in the original Shrek. Now because of Patreon, I got to see what exactly Mr. Hood is all about (And i'm not talking KMD...Someone got that reference. ) For a long time I had this confused with the Mel Brooks parody and of course this is another over two hour Kevin Costner movie! Anita had to sleep off a hangover this week so C...

After a trip through Woop Woop last week, the energy is high again and Chris is holding it down with me once again but Anita drops some lines in-between her nap. (We recorded super late.) None of us had any idea what this movie was but Nichol from The Superiority Complex wanted us to see this so bad, that she passed me her DVD copy! We discuss the dime-a-dozen erotic thrillers of the 90s and Chris...

Since Awful Hero gave us this film as his Patreon pick, i've been so curious to see just what the hell this was. Chris and I watched it and I still don't know what the hell this is! I'm counting on our Australian listeners to give me some answers this week. Chris helped me out a lot this week and when we weren't hanging out in Woop Woop, we also discussed the Psycho films, The Flintstones, the Los...
