There's no time where hops effect a beer more then Wet Hop season since each plant is a snapshot of what happen ecologically over the past year. Sometime local events also have an impact on the beer, in OB it was rather rainy when this beer was first brewed and between the hops that year and the 3-day old Huracan parked in the new appartment complex down the street both made history books!

Sometimes really good beers take time to develop. For Pizza Port brewing, creating a modern IPA that can sit a long side a staple West Coast IPA like Swami's it took two years of tinkering for the team to create Coastin' Tropical IPA.

Pretty sure this crew just stepped off the jetway from The Great American Beer Fest in Denver, a whole bunch of Pizza Port Brewing's finest have made their way to the Alt 94/9 studios to talk about what they've been up to! We start with a can that conjures thoughts of getting tacos in the late hours of the night, Amigo Mexican Style Lager.

Much like Tom's green truck (that he rolled on the freeway some years ago) this beer isn't here for a long time, but it's here for a good time. With a huge hop-puch that comes on fast and leaves fast it'll keep you coming back to sip this wet hop beer again, again and again.

O'Brien's Wet Hop Fest features more then just beers from Nickel Beer Company, it also shows off some of the other beers made by neighbouring breweries like Ketch. Under the guise of Dr. Billheimer, Ketch Brewing makes some of the cleanest, easy-drinking beers in San Diego and their wet hop brew this year Poisiden's Potion is no exception.

We've already established that Tom loves to brew wet hop beers and when he can tie in locally grown hop it gets him even more excited. For today's beer, High Country it showcases some of the best in locally grown San Diego hops.

It's Oktoberfest time and everyone has their beers on tap. There are two schools of thought, the OG Marzen or the newer Fest Bier. In true Mother Earth Brewing fashion, their Oktoberfest is somewhere in between! Andrew from MEBC explains the thought process behind forging thier own path.

One of the stars of the Taste of Shogun this Sunday at Shogun by Embolden is today's beer. Brewed in collab with Takehiro Hira The Warrior is a lager featuring Okinawa's Shikuwasa citrus. It makes this beer huge on flavor with this almost lime-tangerine like cirtus quality.
