It Is Time to Invite the Unworthy (Reverend Ross Henzi) Every single one of us, on our own, are a mess.  We are all sinful human beings.  Every one of us is unworthy.  Once you know that, once you understand that, once you know that by God’s grace the gospel is what brought you to Jesus, you begin to want that for everybody else. Look at Jesus.  Look at who he welcomed.  He met with, talked to, an...

Speak Truth to Power (Reverend Ross Henzi) Have you ever noticed; it is nearly impossible nowadays to get people to agree on something?  It doesn’t matter the topic.  You can say, “I think Strawberry is the best flavor of ice cream.”  Someone else will counter, “No way.  Chocolate, Blue Moon, even Vanilla is better than Strawberry.”  The same thing happens with politics, religion, science, or even...

What The Father Wants ( Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer) A man had two sons. He went to the first son and said, “Son, go and work today in the vineyard.” “I don’t want to.” The son said. “I’m not doing it.” Later he felt remorse, he changed his mind and went to the vineyard. The father went to his other son as well. He said the same thing. “Son, go and work today in the vineyard.” “Yes, sir.” “I will.”...

Reverend Ross Henzi Today we conclude our sermon series based on our congregation’s vision with the word:  Go.   Because eventually, we have to leave the building.  Jesus never intended for the Church simply to gather together, enjoy being together, grow together - and then stay together behind four walls.  Jesus calls us to go.  Listen again, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Jud...

(Gather,) Grow, (Go)  Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer This is the second of a three-week sermon series on our mission and vision here at Trinity. Our mission is clear. We receive it straight from Jesus: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” “Make disciples!” Now, h...

GATHER - GROW - GO (Reverend Ross Henzi) Our congregation has a vision:  Gather. Grow. Go.  Three simple words.  But they describe something much bigger.  ·      We gather so that we can encourage one another. ·       We gather so that we can strengthen one another. ·       We gather so that we can remind one another about Jesus. Don't underestimate what happens when we gather here in worship...

The Cross is a Must (Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer) Jesus isn't asking us to walk a road he hasn't already walked. He went first. He took the cross we could never bear—the cross of God's judgment against sin. And because his cross ended at an empty tomb, we know our crosses are temporary. And life with him is eternal.  As much as you love Jesus’ cross. As happy as you are to wear it aro...

THE CHURCH IS FOR ALL PEOPLE (Reverend Ross Henzi) Families are interesting, aren’t they.  Families don’t all look alike.  Families don’t all think alike.  Families don’t all have the same personalities.  Families don’t all have the same gifts.  But they belong to one another.  That’s what Jesus creates - people who are different from one another - but united in him.  So, what does this mean for o...

Christians Answer Doubt with Faith (Reverend Ross Henzi) From the outside, Christians may look just like everyone else.  We cry.  We get sad.  We struggle.  We still ask questions.  But inside, something is different.  The Holy Spirit keeps pointing us back to Jesus. The world answers uncertainty with fear, suffering with despair, and doubt with hopelessness.  But Christians answer doubt with fait...

"Bring Them Here to Me", Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer Jesus feeding the 5,000 is recorded in all four gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They all have it. Besides the resurrection, this is the only miracle found in all four. Isn’t that interesting? Certainly, every miracle of Jesus we find in scripture is important and is there for a reason. Every last one proves Jesus is who he says...

Stubborn in Prayer: Prayer Never Fails Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer Prayer never fails because every prayer brings us to the God whose grace is sufficient. Prayer never fails because every prayer places our burdens into the hands of the Savior who died and rose for us. Prayer never fails because even when God doesn’t remove the thorn, he still gives us what we need most. When you pray, “Lord, enough,...

Sermon Series/Stubborn in Prayer: When God Doesn't Answer Prayers Right Away (Reverend Ross Henzi) Have you ever prayed a similar prayer and wondered if anyone was listening?  ·       Maybe you’ve prayed for healing, but the diagnosis hasn’t changed. ·       Maybe you’ve prayed for a marriage, a job, peace of mind, relief from anxiety, freedom from addiction. ·       You prayed yesterday.  Yo...
