The Graveyard Shift Horror Podcast

Mike is joined by Giordano Petti to see if this 2002 CGI loaded horror is a floater or a sinker. Can star power and Italian boobs compensate for a script that was overhauled at the last minute, ghosts more interested in spooking the viewers than than the characters, and a villain who makes no sense in his motivations, power, limits or his reactions? Mike is joined by actor and pretty cool guy, Dennis Velasco to partake in some Hammer cinema. This movie is notable for being a sequel that has no Dracula in it but we get Van Helsing and his ingenuity to make holy weapons out of unorthodox source materials. Dennis can be found: Instagram: @dennisvelasco , Twitter: @velascodennis and IMDB We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us...

Rich Joins mike to ring in the new year with Little Monsters. No not that fred savage one, and no, not a remake of the Fred Savage film. This movie features a guy who channels the spirit of Jack Black despite him still being alive which raises questions we aren’t fit to answer. Nonetheless, this movie is damn great and worth checking out. As well as our review. We are hosted at Captivate where you...

Mike is joined once again by Sheldon and the return of musician Rick Massie. We discuss Ricks absolute favourite scary movie, Spookies. All you need to know is that it was actually 2 half movies edited together with NO cohesive plot or actors that appeared in anything else with the exception of one softcore actress. but the monsters look great and its free on YouTube. so watch it with friends! Enj...

1986 was a strange year. 3 movies about robots coming to life came out and we’re gonna cover 2 of them. The first of which was just what seemed like a teenage love story but then Wes Craven couldn’t forget he’s a horror director who also clearly never touched a computer. This was like a more realistic version of weird science. also Mamma Fratelli dies explosively. so it’s not all bad :) Eric revie...

Mike is joined by return guest and horror bookworm/novelist Alex Brown, to discuss a Canadian cult classic about puberty when you get new interests, and hair growing everywhere. And a tail. Another classic from the VHS rental days of young Mike, this revisited movie about a man-eating alien who visits little Italy. does it hold up to his memories? does it hold up at all to Eric? Will there be a schism that fractures the friendship? probably not. but also we have our first caller so there’s surprises all over. Eric reviews movies (not just horror) with his buddy Frenzy on the 2 Bearde...

The Summer of Sand continues! We have not left the beach, nor have we run out of white blonde women and douchey dudes pursued by what lies beneath. But we do get to see the Hulksters pride and joy showing her curves as much as a needlessly PG movie will allow. Also appearing is a totally not at all real descendant of the famed writer and all around nutcase pederast alcoholic Edgar Allan Poe. We ar...

We finish the patriotic horrors with a rapid fire comedy onslaught. Barry Bostwick as FDR: American Badass, and Ray Wise as Douglas MacArthur. a wartime horror in the sense it has werewolves, but otherwise its a slapstick adventure with a streetwise president that won’t stand for the Axis. well. or for anything….. you know…because of the polio. Eric reviews movies (not just horror) with his buddy...

We continue the patriotism month with a movie that has Lincoln in it. but not in a starring role this time. and we finally get closure on a certain thing. Uncle Sam starts off like a cheesy jingoistic slasher but then surprises us with some insightful heart to heart moments. Needless to say, we are pleasantly surprised. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions a...
