Talking Trek: Star Trek Fleet Command

Yet again, the studio is in pieces, and the cast come together to have a great round table convo on the game and the Assimilation Pt 2 Arc

Today take a first look at the arc, it's missions and events, and we break into the math of the Vidar Talios refinery and IF it's actually any good. Then we'll look at how it's performing against the new hostiles and break down some strategies for certain ops levels. President Eco stopped by and took a little friendly roasting on the progress and cleanliness of this months arc so far, and we talk...

Let's take a look at everything the arc brings, and what segment of players MAY enjoy this feature, and who may look at it with disgust. Plus new abilities, officers, and game changingPVP mechanics are introduced. Let's dive in.

DJz was away, so the cast put together a little something special for ya'll.

Welllllll it was completely unplanned when we set our date for the state of the game, but obviously incursions took front and center stage as we talked about that disaster yesterday. BUT we did quickly transition to the January arc and did highlight a few of the positives for players in the 'target landing zone,' but we were able to actually open up and have a convo about the theory or mindset of...

Tonight was a very heated hot and cold debate over the first month of 2023. From Fleet Commanders to Borg Spheres and the Meta to Hugh and Ghalenar, we broke down the ENTIRE arc inside this show. Final grades come Wednesday? Where do you fall? Smash or pass on Assimilation Pt 1?  Visit our website for more information/links at www. UltimatDJzPlayz.com

Our headline feature today was made possible by math and testing from Julesvern regarding Epic Borg Hugh. While this auction is running it's your last opportunity at BULK shards of this officer, so why should you care? He's much more valuable than what may originally appear. A new khan? A new hull breach pairing? Lots of uses of this officer as we dive into what he does, and how he does it! Visit...

Live from Scopely's game design department, Mister Tiger returns to the stage of Talking Trek yet again to discuss his latest creation and some of the intent behind building this arc as compared to his last project, which was the Bajoran Faction. There are some VERY perception changing bits of info in here as related to officer sourcing, charged nanoprobes, exo comps and warp locks. This is a must...

An extremely long segment on Borg crewing and alternative options dominate the first segment, forcing the show into OT but TONS of great information about HOW the BSA (Borg Solo Armadas) work and how they were written to leave you breadcrumb ideas about what is ideal to make them fall. Unless you're a G5 player, then.... ya know... show up and that's about it.  Plus we discuss the massive disappoi...

Today was a VERY mechanical show in which we went through the loop step by step, and described what EACH currency does, how it is obtained, and in what order you should look at this new feature. this is PRECISELY a mechanical "How It all Works." You can't miss this show and get exclusive new information from Scopely HQ on exactly how this loop works!  Visit www. UltimatDJzPlayz.com to link to our...

President Eco stopped by with an in depth explanation of Fleet Commanders, and first reactions to the other pieces of this arc including Borg officers, sourcing, and Borg Solo Armadas. Early feedback is discussed and POSSIBLE teasers to February also contained. This is a great listen and will provide warnings, and insight to the new features released this month.  Visit www. so the first hour of this is mostly DJz being old and struggling to make google drive work. Sorry it's a painful listen, but the little bits about the battle log parser and what it can do and what it shows you is awesome. Then the second segment STARTED okay, but DJ got in his headspace... This was not his finest work, but here it is anyway. Plz hold the tomatoes for the end.  Visit us online at w...

Today Talking Trek is in for a special treat today when Shawna Benson stops by the show to talk about the first season that just wrapped up on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. We examine the show from top to bottom, and the first episode through the last regarding the story, character development and the ideas and themes that are present all throughout the season. This interview was so fun and natural...

Tonight was like watching a train derail 3495 times in a row as that's about how many topics were discussed. But it was a fun show with a variety of things discussed and talked about, NOT just about the arc, but some good teaching bits in there as well. Then we finally get around to doing some grading, and OH OH Battleship is BACK! Listen for details on how to win!  Visit our website at www. Talki...

Tonight had some good base defense teaching as we update the bold defense, post battle engine update and incorporating some strike team officers into the fray. Then Bubba Joe gets his Christmas gift from DJz, the community gets their final gift from BekLikesPlants, and somehow the talk about the arc, events, loot and the calendar turns into everything that is continually wrong with the advanced st...

Assaults are back.... but, there are a few changes this time, including a self-help version of mechanics to assist players who MAY experience technical difficulties during this run of assaults. Plus we talk about how ALB's actually work. How can you MAKE sure your alliance gets paid, even with a 0 score? BekLikesPlants gives the community 3 final holiday gifts, and lastly we discuss the event stor...

Tonight's show was one full of topics ranging from the WIDE variety of issues stemming from Assaults from design issues, to technical failures and why DJz deems this the official worst feature of the year. However, there is some information on crewing, strategic placement of the ASB for defensive posture, and PvP ramifications that are also discussed. Then we get to hear a Christmas gift from CM B...

Tonight we broadcast live from the highway as DJz is traveling, but still comes to hang out and discuss the weeks happenings. New SLB brackets surprised and shocked the community but are they as bad as the initial reaction? Well maybe, but what has no "maybe" to it was how the SMS was designed and implemented. Then we break into some of the do's and don'ts of this event store and what people are l...

the first segment today is relatively positive pointing out and highlighting some of the changes that were made and not put into the patch notes, and other improvements and fixes that DID ultimately come, though they didn't claim them. There's some good stuff here on Mantis space as well as Espionage. But segment 2 takes a turn down a dark path as we begin talking about Assaults and what it will m...

ASB PVP is here..... but don't stress too much, it's also an Event store month, and Espionage will wrap up with some big rewards too. Let's talk about some of the features, bug fixes, and officers on tap for this, the final month of the year, AND of the DS arc series.

Tonight we had a spirited debate on the 'etiquette' of accepting gifts as well as a ray of hope from CM BekLikesPlants regarding the remainder of the 4 day Anniversary Series. What would have been a more well rounded appreciated anniversary gift? Well, the player base SEEMED divided on this tonight as we break down what COULD have come, and what may still yet.  THEN we break into the USS Defiant a...

Today President Eco stops by with a ton of answers for the community on some of the biggest questions sourced by DJz and Rev Deuce. Some answers contain surprisingly good news and it was very nice to have him on the stage WITHOUT him leaving with two black eyes and a bloody nose. Join DJz and Rev as we simulcast and connect with Scopely through our beloved CM, President Eco.  After the break we to...

Tonight we take a look deeply at the math of the Armory building and if it's worth the squeeze. It's certainly a long path and one thing that we HAVE learned is that things up front typically look worse than they really are. That said, is this building WORTH waiting out? Or, do we need to spend on this out of the box? Plus, OliverDJz stops by and we touch on a dirty word.... "Incursions..."  All t...
