Summarizing and capturing what we've learned over the years, reviewing with the final sentence of the book kept in mind as we read.

We continue our meditations on what we've learned over the years, now reviewing Paragraph 2.

An exciting new beginning: we begin our meditations on what we've learned, starting with reviewing Paragraph 1.

Tonight we come to the end of 1 John!

As we work towards the end of this section, which feels like it could be the end of the epistle, we get our vocabulary straight and examine he idea that to be one with God is to be one with Truth.

Today we continue with the final set of verses in this book, headed towards the big finish. Along the way: lots of uses of John's favorite preposition!

As we approach the end of this epistle, we look at the shape of the chapter and begin to focus in on the end of the book!

We know, we know, we know!

All about the sin towards death - and the not-deathwards sin!

At long last: "the sin not leading to death" - not to mention the sin leading to death! (Presented with apologies for the incorrect file upload on this episode - that is been corrected! Happy Easter Weekend!)

Welcome back to Students of the Word! As we work our way towards that "sin that leads to death" section, let's talk about our understanding about how requesting things of God works.

Welcome back to Students of the Word, session 104! We're continuing our verse by verse bible study, nearing the conclusion of 1 John. Let's talk about how God is listening, and that He HEARS! Join us for in-depth bible teaching as we explore the word of God and its profound message. This session is designed to foster spiritual growth through careful scripture reading.

Why John wrote this, and to whom...

We have the Testimony!

We've been building up to the Great Reveal: what God's testimony that we've heard so much about really says about Jesus!

We're back for session 100 of "Students of the Word," continuing our verse by verse exploration of the first epistle of John. This in-depth bible study is nearing its completion, as we approach the end of this profound book of the Bible. Join us as we examine the Word of God and its enduring message.

How Jesus Christ — the one in whom believers trust to overcome the world — came not merely through water alone, but through both water and blood, with the Spirit bearing truthful witness to this full coming as Son and Messiah.

How the Spirit is the primary witness testifying to Jesus as the Christ and Son of God, because the breath is truth - and how God's declaration makes it so.

John's incredibly precise description of who exactly is doing all this vanquishing, and in what sense is our faith the victory?

Answering all the questions and solving all the issues!

Overcoming!

Let's think hard about WHY John says we should keep the commandments.

Let's consider what we are to do with God's commandments.
