Steve Cooley Music

I rendered this at maximum resolution 4k, it took three days. haha. 250 frames. 3 days. I really need to think about a faster computer for this. The music was performed by me, in real time, in one take, improvised, on mostly a eurorack synth.

prepping for santa cruz open mic at indexical april 25, 2024

is this track hawd enough?

Audio: a quick track trying to prep for the first ever South Bay Modular Synth Open Mic, February 2024 Video: I splurged and rendered 500 frames of glass stuff, then I started goofing around with the video.

Here I am, prepping for a show coming up in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty excited to play with this skiff 😄 it's becoming a fun combination of modules! The mutamix is a recent acquisition as a second hand purchase, but it's pretty great. I like...

just a loop i liked 😃

sort of part two from decay whammying. Jamming with the Plonk a bit. hmm, yes, welcome to the team. Ok, time to practice tearing down. I already miss my blue case, but, it's not the right dimensions, so, sigh, time to decide what to do.

a clip of me navigating through the camera rigging to modulate the decay for the plaits. These things are so fleeting, it's hilariously fun and randomly amazing. Sometimes you can just feel it, a jam, and then the turing machine catches some ent...

still practicing for subzero 2023, now with better packed up camera positions, I guess?

just couldn't leave it alone and recorded a few more seconds

I just picked up some new modules, so I'm giving them a spin. The 2023 SubZERO festival is coming, so 1. I'm trying to practice, and 2. I'm also trying to pack up, so that's why the cameras are weird.

Plaits is too much fun to map CVs to, haha. I tip my hat. 🎩⇘ Sorry about the never-chaannging LEDsss ahhh ahhh ahhhhh

chill, yo.

37th known jam to make me point my fingers. 👉👉

Got a few things going for a way out beat, and stumbled into just touching the end of a cable to shift the Shakmat Bishops Miscellany, with the length dialed down to 1 to 3-ish and sometimes 5.

Oh, ok. I see. Ok. Sure, that. Right. great. ye-because of th- right. The uh, right, that's the ... right the, yeah. Oh really, whoa. right because of the. right. right. yeah, wow. sounds yeah, yeah. hmmph. [inaudible] okay! should we.. yeah. ok...

trying out some stuff... reconfiguring the camera rig, thinking about ergonomics, and a design for this case... a ... mechanical idea. hmmm. must meditate on this.
