The eShop. The repair shop. The figurative shop of business. Whatever the shop, we’re talking about it in this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast. First, we head to the eShop for our takes on the new games of the Indie World Showcase, including impressions of Islanders: Console Edition. Then, we’re off to the repair shop, discussing the plight of trying to fix a broken Wii U and ho...

The concrete is cold. The air is humid. The sounds are hollow. The floors are wet. The smells are pungent. The chains are rusty. I wish I could say that we’re bothered by this. But this was life before. Do we deserve it? Maybe. We did take out two guards during our escape so yeah, we’ll call a spade a spade. This is home for us. This is the RNHQ gulag. On today’s episode, Kanye doesn’t release an...

This episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast has lots of team spirit. We team up in Pokemon Unite to experience the franchise’s first foray into MOBAs, take one for the team by playing the latest Switch Online SNES games so you don’t have to, and are team ing with regret as we discuss games we missed from generations past. Okay, so only two of those really work and one completely misspe...

OK, yeah, this is getting weird. They took away the butler, which, fine. We can get up to get the water bottles ourselves, but they also got rid of our chairs and the table… Some dude in a suit told us that it would be temporary and that we’d be recording downstairs for the next couple of episodes. We know what’s downstairs and we’re not looking forward to it. On today’s episode, Jason comes...

It’s a question as old as time: does size matter? While we maybe can’t answer it in every sense, we certainly have some takes when it comes to the newly announced Switch (OLED Model) and its larger screen. In fact, it’s the guiding question of this entire episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast as we also discuss the size of the price tag for Tag Heuer’s Super Mario smartwat...

Random Nontendo were gone for about a month and our nice Herman Miller chairs have been replaced with plastic folding chairs… Maybe they’re being serviced? They also replaced the nice cedar wood table with a little picnic table… Okay… This still isn’t so bad. We still have the butler, but they’re getting our orders wrong. What’s going on? On today’s episode, Angel visits Li...

It’s July 4th, but the real fireworks are in this episode of the Radom Nintendo Podcast as we’ve got some   hot takes on Mario Golf: Super Rush, both good and bad. We also return to Super Smash Bros. It was an E3 like no other. No physical convention, no demos, no crowds. But when it came to games, Nintendo still delivered. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we cover over a dozen announcements, breaking down a surprise-filled Nintendo Direct that had everything from Metroid and Zelda to WarioWare and Advance Wars. We then turn to the third-party scene, including Switch highlights...

We thought that it was going to be a bait and switch, but surprisingly for the second recording in a row, we have this fantastic recording studio. They even gave us a butler. Do we tip him? We don’t know, but this whole experience has been fantastic. RNHQ did hand us some new contracts, and well darn it, we were ecstatic to sign on the line. Did we read the contracts? No. Who reads contracts? Fool...

It’s balls and bombs away as we take on Knockout City and Super Bomberman R Online in this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast. We share impressions of both multiplayer-centric Switch games, plus discuss what’s next for Sonic The Hedgehog and Dragon Quest following their recent anniversary presentations. Then, it’s all eyes on Switch Pro as we critique then immediately join th...

Those (expletives) got us. We were almost at the edge of civilization and RNHQ Security Force captured and brought us in. But it looks like they want to treat us better? We’re not in the Gulag, we’re in a nice room. With a nice view of LA…? What’s going on… I have no idea? On today’s episode, Jason goes down the competitive reality TV show hole with The Masked Singer and The Circle, Kevin go...

It’s a show that builds character – or at least talks about a bunch of them. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we discuss all the latest announcements from Nintendo, including fresh Mario Golf: Star Rush details and why its character roster includes the likes of King Bob-Omb and Chargin’ Chuck. We also celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of Nintendo’s most i...

Month 2, Week 2. We still haven’t gotten to civilization. It’s starting to feel like we’re in the Blair Witch Project. We ran out of food a few hours ago. We have to start hunting. All I know is we refuse to be taken back to the RN Gulag. They’ll find our dead, dehydrated bodies before we go back to that place. On today’s episode, Jason goes to his first post vax concert, Angel and Jason and The M...

If a picture’s worth a thousand words, a full game of them is worth at least a dedicated podcast segment. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we give New Pokemon Snap just that with our impressions of the sequel 22 years in the making. We also focus in on a very different type of big picture with a look at what Super Mario Party’s surprise online support, the reveal of Game...

You might be wondering why you’ve been without an episode of QC for a month. The reason? We’ve done it. We’ve finally escaped the clutches of RNHQ. We’re on the run. We’re currently recording in the middle of some forest. We don’t know how far they’re behind us, but we’re gonna keep on running. On today’s episode, we go over the biggest releases of the last two months. First, we go mano a mano wit...

Angel and Jason fly solo for a one-off special we’re calling the Power Hour and cover everything from favorite breads to a dislike of milk to the magic of Disney’s Seven Seas Lagoon and other theme parks. We...

For a game with a word as good as “rise” in its name, we sure had a hard time coming up with a punny show title. Yet ultimately we, like the games we’re covering in this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, did rise to the occasion. Our episode’s namesake, Monster Hunter Rise, rose to meet expectations. Squad-based dodgeballer Knockout City rose to stand out in a sea of...

This episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast is not one for the history books, but from them. We look back at the 3DS for its tenth anniversary, revisit Metroid: Samus Returns, check out the previously Japan-only Mr. Driller: Drill Land’s new lease on life on Switch, and share our impressions of the Playing with Power: The Nintendo Story docuseries. That’s not to say we don’t look...

We don’t know about you, but Quarantine Chronicles is feelin’ 22. We’re feeling pretty good. RNHQ has started to get a little more lenient these last couple of weeks and they’ve been playing music through the gulag speakers. Taylor Swift’s Red to be exact. On loop. No, that’s not Stockholm syndrome kicking in… In a QC first, today’s episode is focused on a singular topic. What is that...

It’s the swords of Pyra/Mythra versus the guns of Apex Legends. In this milestone episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we share our impressions of the latest Smash Bros. Our wittle guy is all gwown up. Quarantine Chronicles is finally old enough to have a legal drink here in the states! We celebrated the best way we could, by taking shots of the rain water dripping through the cracks of RNHQ’s gulag. We’re not sure if the rain has any alcohol in it, but boy, the room is a-spinnin’ regardless! On today’s episode, Nintendo has Jason wanting to La La, the crew...

On the impressions side, we check out the Warriors-infused Persona 5 Strikers and the Neo Geo-turned-Switch game SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium. Then, on the news side, we dive into the latest Nint...

Look, did we really want to name this episode Yes, Daddy Jason? It doesn’t matter because RNHQ loved the title and they loved it so much that they let us record this episode in an actual office. Yeah, we were tied to the chairs and got no restroom break, but it was a nice change of pace, ya know? If we have to have Jason’s name in the title to get a little luxury, then so be it. On today’s episode...

If there’s one thing you can say about this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, it’s that the cat certainly hasn’t got our tongue. Whether it’s impressions of the cat-filled Bowser’s Fury inside Super Mario 3D World, a deep dive into some of the movers and shakers from Nintendo’s latest financial report, or harrowing tales of trying to get Nintendo-themed fa...
