We all know the feeling. Pure, unadulterated fear. When that pit begins to form in your stomach and your chest tightens. Your heart is racing and your breath catches in your throat. That chill that washes over your body from the tip of your toes, all the way up to the top of your head. Your hands trembling every cell in your body telling you to get out. That feeling when you can hardly speak as yo...

We’ve talked about haunted dolls before, and admittedly, they are creepy. But after researching today’s topic, I can honestly say this might be the most scared I’ve been. There is a doll that just the mention of her name can cause trouble in people’s lives, so beware as you listen today. I may have even been afflicted by the powers of the spirits within this object. But more on that later. This is...

For many people, certain dolls give off something of an eerie vibe. And with the popularity of haunted doll movies, think Chucky and Annabelle, the weird feeling some people get around particularly creepy dolls is palpable. We’ve talked about haunted dolls before, and in anticipation of our episode on one of the spookiest dolls whose story has ever been told, we thought we’d talk about some of you...

When Latoya Ammons, her mother, and her 3 children moved into their new rental home in Gary Indiana, they had no idea that the next year would be full of paranormal encounters, demonic visitations, a new open case with DCS, and three separate exorcisms! What unfolded before them was so horrifying, you may find yourself wondering if it could be true. The official state documentation written by case...

As the sun begins to set, you look around and realize that you’ve stayed out too late. It will be completely dark before you’re able to make it out of the woods. You’ve had this feeling for the last hour or so like you’re being watched, but every time you look up, there isn’t anyone, or anything, nearby. So you gather your things and move quickly to get back to your camp, those eyes, wherever they...

If there is one thing I think we can unanimously agree on, it’s that healthcare workers are some of the most amazing people on the planet. They take care of our sick and elderly. They spend hours upon hours doing a sometimes thankless job, dealing with a heavy emotional burden surrounded by tragedy and death. Something else I think we can agree on is that some of their stories associated with the...

We are sad that we’re moving out of Appalachia, but I wasn’t quite done with the mountains yet. Several weeks ago, we had a listener write in suggesting we look into the Croke-Patterson mansion in Denver. After hearing their story, I was intrigued! So we’re going to take a trip over to the West and into the Rocky Mountains and talk about the most haunted places in Denver, Colorado. We couldn’t cov...

We’ve spent the last month talking about all things Appalachia. Undoubtedly, there are some strange and eerie things happening in those mountains. There are many theories about the different kinds of creatures and entities living in the woods and each one of them brings their own unique and frightening tales for us to share. Last week we discussed something called Crawlers, and if you didn’t watch...

Sadly, Appalachia April is coming to an end. But we have one more set of spooky stories for you guys from deep in the mountains. Last summer, in episode 133, listener stories 53, Kharma wrote to us telling us about a chilling experience they had in the summer of 2020. They had seen what they described as a crawler… Since that time, I have been fascinated by these beings and have had this topic on my list of episodes. I initially believed that crawlers were concentrated around the Appalachia area (hence their place in Appala...

Most of the time, when we think of Appalachia we think of the southern mountain ranges – places like Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina. But the Appalachian Mountain Range technically stretches from Alabama to Newfoundland, and the Scottish Highlands are even believed to have once been a part of this ancient land when Pangea was formed. So I thought we'd dedicate an episode during Appalac...

We all love a good haunted house story. Hearing about strange noises in the night from a ghost with a backstory is exactly how I like to spend my time. What makes a haunted house even spookier, in my opinion, is knowing that the home sits on land that is ancient and mysterious. Haunted houses in Appalachia are automatically something next level creepy, and so today that’s what I’m bringing to you....

Spooky stories from Appalachia have blown up over the years and lucky for us, there is no shortage of first-hand tales from people who live in the region online. So for today, I scoured Reddit for some of the strangest and scariest paranormal stories set in Appalachia. The stories range in location and the kind of activity witnessed, but they are all haunting in their own right. From suspected cry...

If you’ve been here with us long enough, then you know we have a borderline obsession with Appalachia. It’s ancient, strange, and down-right spooky! We’ve done several episodes now on some of the legends, lore, and scariest stories to come out of that region and with each new thing that we learn about it, the more I want to know. So, we thought we’d take the month of April (because I love a good m...

Late into the night of September 8, 1972, Minnie Winston was taking a bath before going to bed. It had been a typical warm fall day in the south, and a nice bath was just what she needed to wash away her sweat and any worries she may have had while taking care of her husband. She had always been more of a night owl and her husband, William, the only other person living with her at the time, had be...

We did an entire episode on NDEs a very long time ago, so if you want to learn more about the science behind near death experiences then you can check out episode 5. But today we will be telling stories from you guys that tell of something similar to that phenomenon like an anonymous listener’s grandmother experiencing that classic NDE before she ultimately passed, but also several that are a litt...

We often ask a question here on the pod – can people manifest their own hauntings. We know that hauntings have occurred via summoning with objects like ouija boards. There are also residual hauntings from large amounts of spiritual energy being imprinted on to a space, like traumatic or extremely happy moments or even repetitive events that leave their mark on a home or a piece of land that can st...

We hope that the end of winter brings solace to those of you looking forward to Spring! Poland is a country with a very long and turbulent history. Its ancient roots go back thousands of years when it was believed that a diverse population of ethnic groups inhabited the land of present-day Poland long before the first ruling dynasty took over in the 10th century. It has seen many rulers with different ideals of how a nation should be led. It's been through war where countless people...
