Calvary Chapel Johnson County

This week we'll be introduced to yet another angel who will stand with one foot on the sea and one foot on land. We'll talk about 7 mysterious thunders and then John will be told to take the book in the hand of the angel and to eat it. The angel will declare that there will be delay no longer and that all the prophets had spoken would come to pass.

This week the Lord will deal with the position of our hearts. We'll talk about covetousness, greed, worry, anxiety and the simple fact that where our hearts are there our treasure will be also. Great things to ponder and meditate on.

Tonight we'll look at an even more devastating judgment that will come upon the earth. A 200 million strong army will come upon the earth and this time unlike the last trumpet judgment they will be given authority to kill to the tune of 1/3 of the population. Even as all this occurs the world will refuse to repent of its evil deeds.

Today Jesus will deal with the Pharisees and the lawyers and He won't be so friendly with them as he calls them hypocrites and lists several Woe's upon them. You and I will offend someone in this world...Either we will live whole heartedly for Jesus and offend the world or we'll live the life of the hypocrite and offend our Lord. Then we'll talk about the fear of man compared to the fear of God an...

Today we'll look at the 5th trumpet. We'll see supernatural, abnormal locusts invade the earth. These creatures will be something the world has never before seen. They will be able to sting men for five months and men we are told will look for death and not find it. Even though this will be terrible we can still see the mercy of God even in this.

Today we'll see Jesus set someone free from a demon that had made them mute...a clear miracle and yet those who came against Jesus proceeded to say He did this by the power of Satan. Jesus will speak of a house that is divided and how it can't stand, He will give instruction about the demonic realm, He will give examples of Gentile nations and how they received the Word of God and He will make it...

This week the 7th seal will be opened and we'll be introduced to 7 angels who are given 7 trumpets. There will be silence in heaven for what John perceived was 30 minutes. Once the trumpets begin to be blown cataclysmic events happen on planet earth.

This week we'll continue to talk about the disciples and how the Lord was teaching them how to pray. We'll talk about asking the Lord to keep us from temptation and delivering us from evil. We'll talk about how our Father in heaven knows exactly what we need and when we need it, how He desires to respond to our prayers, the need to be persistent in our prayers and how the Lord will often simply sa...

Join us tonight as we look at Revelation 7. Last week there was a question asked in the very last verse when those on the earth said "For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" Chapter 7 answers that question as we see in the midst of the most difficult times the world will ever go through two distinct groups who see the work of God in their lives. Even in the end times th...

Today we'll be looking at 3 well known passages of scripture. First we'll talk about the man that was beaten and left for dead and we'll see the Samaritan as the good neighbor. Then we'll talk about Martha and Mary and one of the two sisters will find a place that is better than being busy serving the Lord while the other will be worried and distracted with many things...And then finally we'll tal...

Tonight after seeing the Lamb found worthy to take the scroll and having redeemed man to Himself the Lord will begin to open the scrolls. Mayhem will ensue, the antichrist will be revealed, war, famine and death will follow. Then we'll see many that were slain for their faith and finally an incredible earthquake that will deal a blow to the sun, moon and stars.

This week we'll see the disciples continue to fail as James and John will propose calling fire from heaven to consume those that reject them, Jesus will talk about the difficulty of choosing to follow Him, He'll call and send out 70 to go out in to the harvest, Satan will fall like lighting and Jesus will say not to rejoice in what they saw but that their names were written in heaven.

This week we'll be looking at chapter 5 once again and we'll be seeking to answer what exactly is the scroll, and why was it that the Lamb had to die in order to have the authority to take the scroll from the One on the throne.

This week we'll see the Lord transfigured before three of His disciples as they went up together on a mountain. We'll see failure in ministry as the disciples can't cast out a demon. We'll see John get upset because someone is casting out demons in the name of Jesus without following along in their group. We'll see the disciples fighting over who is the greatest and we'll see the Lord loving the 1...

Tonight we'll do an overview of chapter 5 in our study of Revelation. We'll find two major themes as we read through it...the Lamb and the scroll and we'll inspect the text to see what we can learn about these two important topics. In the end we'll see the Lamb being worshipped for the incredible act of redemption that was accomplished on behalf of humanity

This week is Resurrection Sunday! The day we celebrate the risen Lord and it just so happens we find ourselves in the gospel of Luke in the first place that Jesus declares He will rise again from the dead...And really this year we'll think about how we should respond as we think about what Jesus did, as we answer the question Jesus asked of the disciples when He said "Who do you say that I am?" Th...

This week we'll be in chapter 4 of Revelation as John is taken up into heaven. The first thing and the most prominent thing that he will see in chapters 4 and 5 is the throne. We'll get a description of the One that sits on the throne, we'll see there are 24 elders around the throne, an emerald colored rainbow, lightning and thunder, 4 living creatures and more. It's a busy chapter with those who...

This week we'll see the Lord helping those who are in great need. A woman with a prolonged health illness, a synagogue ruler, His own disciples and a large multitude. In each case the people would find themselves lacking but the Lord would give all that was necessary.

This week we come to the third portion of the book of Revelation which is the things which shall take place after this taken from Revelation 1:19. We'll briefly discuss the things which had been seen, the things which are and we'll turn our attention to the things that take place after the church age. We'll talk about the rapture and provide several reasons for why we believe it's a pre-tribulatio...

This week we'll see Jesus exhausted from ministry sleeping while a deadly storm rages around the disciples. The disciples will forget what the Lord said to them, they'll become fearful and they will run to their Master. Jesus in turn will calm the storm. Then they will meet an unexpected individual just as soon as they arrive to the shore. The local city didn't know what to do with this man and ev...

This week we'll look at the last of the 7 churches that are found in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. I wish it was a church letter that was full of good things but instead we find that it's perhaps the church that the Lord had the worst things to say. This church was found to be lukewarm, they trusted in their own riches, they felt they had everything together and yet the Lord said they were wretched...

This week we'll be looking at a parable most of us are familiar with. It's the sower and the seed. We'll be talking about the 4 different kinds of soil that the Word of God lands upon and we'll talk about how these apply to the lives of those who hear.

Today we'll look at what many call the faithful church. The believers in Philadelphia was known to have an open door, to have little strength, to have kept His Word and they had not denied His name. The Lord made promises to them that they would be spared from the hour of trial that would come upon the whole world and encouraged to hold fast that which they had.

Today we'll be looking at a life that was greatly broken and yet found incredible forgiveness. The Lord ask an important question as he describes two individuals in debt and that debt being forgiven. We'll talk about faith and how it led this woman to find new life. And we'll talk about Simon the Pharisee and his pride.

This week we'll look at a church that on the outside had quite the reputation but the Lord said they were dead. How did things get like this for this church and how do we protect ourselves from getting to that point? There were some that hadn't defiled themselves we are told and they would walk with Him in white.
