Loren Moss
The Clerisy
"The Clerisy" with Loren Moss comes out of a simple proposition: If we encourage thinking, we will have a more thoughtful society. Peter Bernstein was right when he said "The riskiest moment is when you think you're right," and thus we hope to introduce heterodox thinking to the debate that typically peddles a defective and false "left vs. right" dichotomy. This endeavor comes out of a sense of urgent responsibility: "If those who know why and how neglect to act, those who do not know will act, and the world will continue to flounder."- Alfred Korzybski, 1921

How did roughly 8,000 babies become a supposed threat to America? I break down Trump v. Barbara, the Fourteenth Amendment, and how a policy sold as stopping “birth tourism” could deny citizenship to an estimated 255,000 American-born children every year. I examine the numbers behind the outrage, defend the constitutional case for birthright citizenship, and explain why neither party gets a free pa...

Most Americans don’t fit neatly into the red-vs.-blue political divide, and Pew’s latest political typology helps explain why. Let's break down the nine groups that actually make up the American electorate, why the loudest ideological camps dominate the conversation, and how a much larger middle holds a mix of views that neither party fully represents. Take the quiz: https://www.pewresearch.org/po...

The Government Wants to MANDATE Printing SPYWARE 27.08.2026 31:12
What happens when the government decides what you’re allowed to make in your own home? California’s AB 2047 would require 3D printers to screen designs before they can be printed. Supporters say it’s about guns. Critics say it could create something much bigger: a system that can inspect, block, and potentially monitor what you create. Bernie Sanders wants to put the brakes on America’s AI data center boom. But while the U.S. debates moratoriums, China is building, and the real problem may not be data centers themselves, but how we power them. This is the debate we should actually be having. Do libertarians actually want to govern, or do they prefer remaining outsiders forever? That's the uncomfortable question at the center of this debate. Today we discuss the backlash over calls for professionalism at Libertarian conventions, the divide between anarchists and pragmatists, and whether a broader coalition is possible without sacrificing principles. What kind of Libertarian Party would...
The Insane Hidden Greed of FIFA's World Cup 25.06.2026 40:14
The FIFA World Cup is supposed to be the beautiful game at its finest, but behind the trophies, flags, and celebrations lies a much uglier story. In this video, I dive into FIFA's long history of corruption scandals, bribery allegations, hypocrisy, and the bizarre ways the organization squeezes money out of fans, businesses, and even host nations. I love soccer, but I hate FIFA, and after seeing t...
What did Trump Win Us In His Iran Deal? 20.06.2026 1:00:33
Trump just SURRENDERED to Iran — and called it a win. We won absolutely nothing. Here’s the real scorecard. On his 80th birthday, Donald Trump posted “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” and declared the Trump-Iran War over. But strip away the victory lap and look at what we actually got: the same regime in Tehran, a nuclear program still intact, and the Strait of Hormuz han...

Israeli Billionaire Calls for an End To Free Speech Rights for Americans! 27.03.2026 7:52
A billionaire tech titan just went on CNBC and openly called for the U.S. government to limit the First Amendment, “control the platforms,” and even “stack-rank every person who speaks online.” Let's look at what Shlomo Kramer said, why it matters, and how these proposals echo digital authoritarianism. This is a direct challenge to America’s most fundamental right: free speech. Let’s unpack it. Wa...
Conservative Judge Slams Trump Officials In Court 11.03.2026 5:01
A federal judge in Boston has delivered a stunning rebuke to the Trump administration, blocking efforts to detain or retaliate against pro-Palestinian student protesters and academics. In a scathing ruling, Reagan-appointed Judge William G. Young said the actions of top officials (including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem) amounted to a conspiracy to target non-citizen...

Where has QAnon gone, and why has the so-called “truth movement” disappeared when the Epstein files began implicating powerful people? Let's talk about how this conspiracy culture was built, how it was used for political gain, and why so many were misled. As the "Trumpire" and Congress clash over funding, a baffling move to target TSA PreCheck and Global Entry has travelers—and common sense—in a tailspin. We dive into why shutting down these efficient, low-manpower programs is a counterproductive political stunt, especially when the very people supposedly managing the department can't seem to get their stories straight. Beyond the airport lines, we...
What is REALLY wrong about this State of the Union Speech 24.02.2026 38:43
The State of the Union was meant to be a Constitutional report, but nowadays it has devolved into political theater. Between the performative clapping and the partisan hooting, we’ve lost the substance of actual governance. This video breaks down how a tradition intended to inform the nation has turned into a high-stakes rah-rah session designed to feed the activist base rather than serve the Amer...
Is Trump turning America into a socialist state? 11.02.2026 7:22
Is the "S-word" making a comeback? Most people think of campus coffee shops and Che Guevara t-shirts, but the latest trend in central planning isn't coming from the left, it’s coming from the Trump administration. Let's look at the bizarre rise of "State Capitalism." From the feds buying equity in private zinc mines to demanding cuts of corporate profits, we’re witnessing a shift away from free ma...
Is security now a slur? 09.02.2026 7:35
We’re constantly told that “national security” means safety. That it means protection. That it’s about keeping Americans secure. But when you actually look at what these policies are doing, it paints a different picture. The Trump administration’s immigration crackdown isn’t about stopping crime or terrorism. It’s about using fear to justify banning legal immigrants, separating families, and treat...
The Trillion Dollar Graffiti Vandal 06.02.2026 18:57
Donald Trump is turning the U.S. government into a personal branding project: from vanity warships and renamed institutions to gold-plated policies built for ego, not the public good. From the proposed “Trump-class” battleship to the rebranding of national landmarks and federal programs, let's examine how power, narcissism, and spectacle are replacing serious governance. Drawing on history, milita...

Today I take on the “nanny state”: from low-flow showerheads and LED lightbulbs to disposable washing machines and ugly crossover SUVs. What started as “efficiency” rules has turned into weaker products, higher costs, and fewer real choices for consumers. With personal stories from decades in broadcasting and appl...
