When you are making plans, do you ask the Lord for guidance? What hard lessons have you learned from leaving God out of your plans or jumping ahead of Him? What blessings have you enjoyed as a result of seeking His guidance and following Him in obedience?

Where do you usually go for guidance? Have you ever experienced the consequences of turning to the wrong person for advice? Can you think of a time in your life when you were particularly stubborn? What happened as a result? Now think about a time when you sought God’s guidance and did what He said. What did you learn? What blessings did you experience?

At some point in our lives, we all face daunting  and even fearful situations. How have you reacted?

 Adversity comes in a variety of different forms, but one thing is certain—it will come to every one of us sooner or later. How will you handle it?

"GOD AND MONEY" Is it difficult for you to trust God with your finances? What attributes of God reassure you that He can be trusted to supply your needs if you will obey Him in the matter of giving to His kingdom work?

You will never earn, merit, or be good enough to enter heaven. Your salvation is totally dependent upon receiving God’s grace, a free gift, that you access only through putting your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

 What are you facing today that’s making you anxious or even fearful? How would filtering the situation through God’s Word change your response? What would happen if you shifted your focus to the one who holds the future and has promised to give you His presence, power, provision, and protection? 

 Can you name a particular promise that God has given you? When is the last time you claimed a promise from God’s Word? What blessings came as a result? Have you found peace in a situation where God fulfilled a promise for you or your family?

 How many times have you confessed the same sin to the Lord, and each time you feel sorry and tell Him you won’t do it again? Yet deep inside, you doubt that you’ll follow through. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Perhaps the problem is that despite our confessions, we haven’t entered into genuine repentance.

In the past, what has caused you to yield to temptation? What consequences followed? Looking ahead, how can you courageously resist temptation in the future?

 If you have ever contemplated “ending it all,” please get quiet, open your Bible, prayerfully listen, and learn how much God loves you. 

Where do you go for help when storms come into your life? Are prayer and the Word of God your first response, or do you turn to other sources for help? What role does fear or timidity play in your response to trouble? What has been the outcome when you have responded in fear?

 In what part of life do you lack self-control? Why is it so difficult for you to surrender this to the Lord? How would remembering God’s faithfulness in the past help you yield even more of your life to Him today?

What is the most powerful temptation you are facing today? How are you dealing with it? Which areas in your life are easy targets for the enemy? What will you do to defend yourself? Considering your most frequent temptations, what can you do beforehand to strengthen your resolve to resist?

What evidence is there in your life that you have the joy of the Lord? How consistently is it expressed in your disposition in hard times? What are some of the reasons you can rejoice in your relationship with Jesus, even in the most difficult of circumstances?

Believers everywhere are under persecution like never before. How prepared do you feel to face danger or even death? What promises from God’s Word would silence your fears and give you the courage you need? Rest in Jesus, who promised to never to leave or forsake us.

Jesus came to earth to reflect God’s heart for those who are hurting, and he does heal because he has overcome the evil one through His life, death, and resurrection.
