This Sunday at the Cathedral Church, we celebrate the baptism of one of our newest family members. Dean Peet teaches from Deuteronomy 6 and the people of God's task to teach one another the love of God and of neighbor. 

Isaiah 59:9-20 speaks of a people with no hope. However, in the middle of the passage, we hear that God sees and responds. Marion Platt, the director of Charleston's Star Gospel Mission, shares with us the hope of the one who suited up and came to live among us, giving us hope of restoration in the midst of darkness.

This week, Dean Peet teaches from 2 Corinthians 4:13-18, where Paul describes the hope for those of us who are discouraged. Have you felt that you have lost heart? Take heart that though our outward selves are wasting away, we have a great hope that our inward selves are bring renewed and will be fully restored when we see Jesus face to face.

This Trinity Sunday, Rob Sturdy preaches from Jesus' encounter with Nicodemus in John 3:1-16. The Trinity exists in ever-self-sacrificing love. When Jesus meets Nicodemus at night, he shows him that to walk in light is to walk in the love that sees all and yet gives itself for the sake of others. 

This Pentecost Sunday, Canon Patrick teaches that Jesus invites us, by the presence of His Spirit, to respond to fear with trust that He is with us. John 20:19-23 shows us that Jesus' first words to the disciples after His resurrection are words of peace and comfort as He appears to them. We are invited to share in that same peace with the promise of the filling of His Holy Spirit. 

This First Sunday After the Ascension, Dean Peet teaches from Psalm 68:1-20. The victory of the cross belongs to God, but to whom go the spoils? Peet shows us that though the victory is the Lord's, the spoils of victory become His people, who in turn are gifts for the flourishing of the world.
