Bible reading. Galatians 3: 15-29  Why was the law given? The law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.

Bible reading. Galatians 3:1-14 Paul questions why the Galatians turned from believing the message of salvation which he had brought to them and they had received through faith, to trying to earn God's favour by their own work. This could only end in failure. 

Bible reading. Galatians 2: 11-21 Paul reaffirms the fact that salvation comes through Christ alone and Christians salvation does not depend on their obedience to circumcision. He states "--by the works of the law no one will be justified".

Galatians 2: 1-10 The apostles acknowledge that Paul had been entrusted by God to preach the gospel to the Gentiles and agreed to send him with Barnabas to go out to continue this ministry.

Bible reading. Joshua 24:14-28 The Israelites are challenged by Joshua to remember what they have seen the Lord do and faithfully serve him. Their answer: "'We will serve the Lord our God and obey him".  

Bible reading. Joshua 3. The Israelites reach the Jordan River which must be crossed before they can enter Canaan, the Promised Land. God has given the instructions as to how they are to do this. They have to believe that God will stop the river from flowing at the time the priest enter it.

Bible reading. Joshua, Chapter 1 Moses had died; the new leader was Joshua. God instructed the Israelites to obey the laws he had given them when they went into Canaan to possess the land.

Bible reading. Genesis, chapter 20. God spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai where he laid out the way the Israelites are to live in order to be his special nation. He did this by giving them the Ten Commandments. By observing these commandments the doers are blessed and also others with whom they associate.   

Bible reading. Exodus 19: 1-8 The Israelites arrived at Mount Sinai. Moses went up onto the mountain and God spoke to him and said to tell the people that if they fully obeyed his covenant they would be hie treasured possession. Moses reported this to them and they said "We will do everything the Lord has said". Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.
