Wordcraft
Writcraft
Writcraft is a show about literary style and the craft of writing. Each episode takes a short original essay written in the style of a great author, from Dickens to Hemingway to Borges, and explores what makes the prose distinctive: the voice, the rhythm, the technique. Two well-read hosts read standout passages aloud and discuss how the writing works, and how faithfully it captures the master it imitates. For writers, readers, and anyone who loves the feeling of a sentence done well. A companion show, Wordstock, explores the vocabulary woven through each essay, one word at a time.
