Worship is our expression of gratitude towards God despite our circumstances. When we worship during difficult times – people notice. When we worship when there is nothing left – God notices. When we worship in the unknown – God provides.

Prayer is meant to be conversational. Prayer is meant to be personal. Prayer is meant to be transformational.

The first habit we must work on is our reflectiveness. "My effectiveness is directly related to my reflectiveness." A relationship with God cures the two greatest fears of humanity: loneliness and death. Immanuel means, "God with us," and Jesus' resurrection has conquered death. Our loneliness has a cure and our curse has a reverse!

The angel's announcement to Joseph was, "they will call him Immanuel (which means 'God with us')." The angel's message to Joseph was for all of us -- God's purpose is to restore us to Him.

We can break down the announcement to Mary into these four key events: 1. God sends an Angel. 2. God sends Gabriel to Nazareth. 3. God sends Gabriel to a Virgin. 4. The child born of a virgin will be a descendant of King David.

Don’t be afraid, ____________; your prayer has been heard. God listens, and God acts. 1. Keep praying. 2. Keep trusting.

1. Giving is a matter of my heart. 2. Tithing is being empowered to give 10% back to God. 3. Jesus + anything else leads to discontentment. 4. The best attitude to have is an attitude of gratitude. Our giving is a direct indicator of our gratitude. We are motivated to give back because of God's grace upon us. Those who give are grateful.

Jesus was a giver.   Is Jesus enough?   Jesus + anything else = discontentment * The source of contentment is Jesus. * The practice of contentment is generosity.   We must: * Think eternally. * Pray continually.

Giving is always a matter of the heart. Tithing is really a matter of entitlement. How can I honor Jesus with what he has entrusted to me? 1. Start Giving. 2. Strive towards 10%.   3. Make sure you can feel it. 4. If you don’t know where to start, depending on your income start with $100 a month or more. The love and example of Jesus leads me to radically give.

Cain brought an "I have to" offering. Abel brought an "I want to" offering. You see, the heart of the matter is a matter of the heart. When it comes to giving, it's always a matter of the heart.

How do I remain in relationship with Jesus? 1. Entrust your heart to Jesus 2. Depend upon Jesus 3. Engage in partnership with Jesus

When Elijah is at his wit's end, God leads him to do three things: 1. Sleep. 2. Eat. 3. Scripture. The biggest problem with a hurried and stress-filled life is that is doesn't leave room for us to hear the gentle voice of God. "Simplicity" means "keeping the main thing, the main thing!"

1. A legacy is something we receive 2. A legacy is something we leave. What we leave behind is what we build over time.  What legacy are you building?  What will you leave to the next generation?

How can I help my kids follow Jesus? 1. Love them. 2. Lead them. 3. Limit them. 4. Let them fly.

We want to be in heaven with our family, but how can we be faithful parents who point our children to Jesus? We need to bring our family to church. We need to be an example. We need to have fun. We need to take the picture/write the card. We need to pray for and with our kids.

Non-married is an inclusive term covering three distinct realities: those yet to be married, those divorced, and those widowed. All three categories have one thing in common: the desire for contentment. What is the secret to contentment? Paul tells us in Philippians 4:10-13, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
