If we want a heart that beats in sync with God’s heart, then we must cultivate a humble heart like David’s. Consider these essential qualities of humility and how you might intentionally cultivate them in your own heart. (2 Samuel 1:1-6:23)

This stern message from Christ exhorts us to not tolerate false teaching and to pursue good deeds, love, faith, service and perseverance.

This first century church was being seduced to integrate with some of the worldly elements of the culture around them. How often does the church today do the same thing? (Revelation 2:12-17)

The church at Smyrna was under severe persecution and suffering from abject poverty. Christ encourages this church to persevere and remain faithful. We can draw strength and encouragement for our own lives from this message to Smyrna. (Revelation 2:8-11)

Christ had a special message for the church in Ephesus. They were hard workers and had sound doctrine but they had stopped loving God and others. The call to repent from this lack of love was given to Ephesus and to us today. (Revelation 2:1-7)

The promised return of Jesus Christ and the events surrounding it should lead us to live our lives with a strongersense of expectancy and urgency. And it should also motivate us to live with a stronger faith and deeper purer devotion to the Lord. (Revelation 19 and other selected passages)

What God is doing in the world today, He is doing primarily in & through His church. If we want to grow spiritually and have a greater influence on others for Jesus, we must make our commitment, involvement and investment in the church a higher priority. (Matthew 16:13-18; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 2:19-22; 4:11-16; 5:32)
