Romans 12:1-2 begins the application section of the book of Romans. Paul says that based on all that we have because of the gospel (chapters 1-11) we need to present our transformed selves to God for His service. (Romans 12:1-2)

God demonstrates the power of the gospel (Romans 1.16) by showing how faithful he is to keep his promises to Israel. Even when Israel was not faithful to God, God remained faithful to them and preserved a remnant of them thus showing he is faithful to us. (Romans 11:1-36)

Israel did not attain righteousness because they did not pursue it by faith, but by works. They had heard the message and should have understood it. They are responsible for their unbelief. (Romans 9:30 - 10:21)

Its one thing to give in to God’s sovereignty and it’s another thing to trust that the sovereign God is good. (Romans 9)

"Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible Tells me so." What if Christians really believed that and lived out of that profound truth? What security and freedom and love we would experience! (Romans 8:31-39)

God wants us to know that he never wastes our pain and suffering. He will bring good out it. In fact, everything that happens in our lives God will use to make us more like his son, Jesus Christ and fulfill his eternal plan for our redemption. (Romans 8:28-30)

Our story has a glorious ending. Until then we hope patiently with the help of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:18-27)

We owe so much to Jesus Christ for our salvation. But we also owe much to the Holy Spirit for our sanctification. (Romans 8:12-17)

Paul brings his argument in the letter to the Romans to the triumphal conclusion that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. He explains how and why God has done this for us. (Romans 8:1-11)

The law can’t save us. The law can only condemn us. The law can show us holiness but it can’t make us holy. It can’t sanctify us. But there is one who can both save and sanctify us. (Romans 7:7-25)

Paul tells us some amazing truth. When we trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation, our whole identity changed. We became slaves of God and we were also married to Christ. And that changes everything! (Romans 6:15--7:6)

The grace of God not only forgives our sins but also delivers us from sinning. In Christ, we have the power to break the sin cycle and live righteously for God. (Romans 6:1-14

Baptism is a beautiful picture of what happened when we became a Christian and the spiritual reality of our identity in Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:1-4)

In Romans 5:12-2, Paul is transitioning from his section on justification and getting us ready for chapters 6-8. Adam thrust the human race into sin but one man, Jesus Christ provides us with a new identity when we receive His grace gift by faith.

The promise of the Old Testament was that God would provide a lamb for sacrifice. That promise became the message of the New Testament. God did provide a lamb for sacrifice. Jesus Christ is the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. (Genesis 22:1--19; Isaiah 53:1-12; John 1:29; Acts 8:26-35; 1 Peter 1:18-21; Revelation 5:9,10)

But There's More! Romans 5:1-11

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us confidence to believe in and live for better days. Because Jesus is alive we don't have to live in fear. (Matthew 28:1-10; Acts 1:3; 4:33; Colossians 2:13,14; Romans 8:31-39)

God chose justification by faith so that it might remove all pride, so that the promise may rest on grace and so that we might give glory to God. (Romans 4:13-25)

Our headlines have been buzzing with news of racial tension. Where does the Church fit in? Are we a part of the problem or the solution? In the book of Romans Paul comes face to face with this issue and is force to deal with it head on. (Romans 4:1-12)

The truths embedded in these verses are the heart of Romans and the gospel. Stand amazed at the grace of God and the love of Jesus Christ for us! (Roman 3:23-25a)

Paul brings the first section of Romans (the wrath of God) to a close. He describes the human condition under the power of sin as one of rebellion against God, expressed in our speech and actions. We are all guilty before God. What hope do we have? (Romans 3:9-20)

Paul continues his case for the universal guilt of all people before God, this time looking specifically at the Jews. They had privileges and responsibilities as the people of God, but failed to practice what they preached. (Romans 2:17 - 3:8)

Its so easy to judge others and not ourselves. Romans 2:1-16 says everyone will be judged, both those without the law and those with it. Everyone has sin and this sin will be judged if they do not respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has something He wants to say to the Church about the power of the gospel for salvation to everyone who believes.... (Romans 1:26, 27; Genesis 2:15-25; Matthew 19:3-9; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

If we don't realize the bad news of our sinful depravity, we won't know what makes the "good news" so good. Paul helps us see how all of humanity is sinfully depraved and under God's judgment. But God has not given up on us! (Romans 1:18-32)
