In this final chapter of the letter to the Romans, there are things we can learn from Paul's greetings, warning and praise. Romans 16:1-27

Paul begins his conclusion to his letter to the Romans by explaining what his purpose and priorities were as he carried the gospel to the Gentiles. From this we can find application in terms of our purpose and priorities in our lives today. (Romans 15:14-33)

Too often disunity in the church over nonessential issues diverts precious time and energy and attention away from praising and glorifying God. Paul writes to correct that problem in their church and ours. (Romans 15:1-13)

Baptism is a very important part of being a follower of Jesus Christ. It proclaims publicly that we are committed and dependent on Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It identifies who we are in Christ and it is an act of obedience.

From the first page of the Bible to the last, God has communicated how much he loves us and to what lengths he will go to to have a personal relationship with us. The only question left is will you believe in Jesus Christ his Son and our Savior? (Genesis 1:26-28; Revelation 21:3,4; Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9,10)

Is the Bible reliable? We approach the question by asking two sub-questions. One, is what we have what was written? Two, is what was written true? Looking at the evidence for both questions we see that we can confidently trust the Bible.

The magnitude of Jesus' claim to be God and his character and miracles and resurrection all force us into an "all or nothing" decision. After evaluating the evidence, the question is not, 'can you believe in Jesus?' but "will you believe in Jesus?' (John 10:24-30; John 14:6; 1 Peter 2:22,23; Hebrews 4:15; John 20:30,31; 1 Corinthians 15:14-17)

Christianity makes exclusive truth claims but it also makes an inclusive grace offer. God offers eternal life to anyone who believes in His Son, Jesus. And Christians must hold to the narrowness of God's truth while reflecting the width of God's grace. (Matthew 7:13-14; John 14:6; John 11:25-26; John 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:8,9)

The world is full of pain and suffering that seems unexplainable. If there is a God why doesn't he alleviate the pain in the world? God does not cause the pain. It is the result of our fallen world.

Without God You can't prove anything (Romans 1:18-25, Psalm 19:1-4)

We’ll never find our purpose by focusing on ourselves. We must focus on God and He will reveal his purpose for us. And it’s a purpose that will bring fulfillment and satisfaction and blessing.

Christians often argue and fight over practices the Bible either doesn't address or doesn't give specific commands to do or not do. Paul gives Christians clear instruction on how to treat one another with regards to disputable and nonessential matters. (Romans 14:13-23)

On most issues our love for one another should trump our differences of opinion. We should love one another because God loves us and, ultimately, we will give an account of our lives to Him. (Romans 14:1-12)

We have a debt to love others which is a debt we cannot ever fully pay, We love because we were first loved by Jesus. When we love others we put away sin and this is crucial because the Lord's return has never been nearer. (Romans 13:8-14)

Christians submit to the Governing authorities where they can and are prepared to suffer the consequences when they are forced to take a stand. (Romans 13:1-7)

Paul continues his instruction of what it means to love others both in and outside the church. (Romans 12:14-21)

The apostle Paul in these verses reminds us that loving God and loving others is basic to the Christian life. Love without action is not really love. (Romans 12:9-13)

Each Christian has been sovereignly given grace gifts from God in order to serve the community of believers called the church. In order for the church to be healthy we all need to be using those gifts. (Romans 12:3-8)
