Sometimes it feels like social media is taking over our lives, how much is too much?

My Mom passed away on July 25th in her sleep. I thought I was prepared. I thought I had it figured out. I've been the strong one for the family, got things done. Turns out this is a lot harder than I thought, this is me two weeks later.

Everybody has things we like, things we prefer. What's your passion though? Are you achieving it, doing it? Or is it still a dream?

A.I., social media, and devices in both hands, but is it really helping? Should we turn back the time a bit?

In this episode we look at some of the things people in our modern society don't want to deal with.  This time it's the Truth about Social Media and how it has impacted our daily lives. 

We're just an average American middle class family. Watching our parents age is very challenging. We're doing everything we can just to make it through it. You can hear part of our story here. I must warn you the title is for a reason unscripted is what this podcast is all about remember that.

During the cold snap of December 2022, our power company dropped the ball. Rolling blackouts ruined people's holiday season unannounced and supposedly initiated by a random computer system. We need to do better

Politics isn't what it used to be. Today is an election day. Today is the day that we make the decisions for our political future in our country. Some people have voted off instinct, some off education some off social media. Either way change is coming

Life goes by in a blink.  When you're a child it seems like you have "forever".  Forever seems to change more quickly than we would like.  

In this great age of social media, people think they know it all, and politics.  People sure do point fingers and few take the blame for their own actions.  So, who's to blame?  

No, not everyone is stupid, but some people sure do act like it these days.  Politics isn't everything and social media certainly doesn't seem to be in the business of making people smarter.  Yes, Dave got a little mad in this one.  If your biscuits got burnt if you will, well you knew that was possible going in.  

Sometimes less is more. We have fallen into the habit of wanting to make sure we share everything on social media. But sometimes not everything needs to be shared not everything even has a place on social media.

What's the future of Twitter and how will it change under Elon Musk? What must we be mindful of?

Most of the time we use social media to make things look good. As it's been here over a decade now a lot of people use it for their own soap opera. Do we even know what being real anymore is?

The world has certainly changed since I was raised.  We didn't know what a selfie was.  We didn't know what social media was.  Social was going next door to the neighbor.  As we have progressed parents have stopped helping their kids to some degree.  

Sometimes you have to speak in the realities.  The things people don't want to hear... or admit to.

With everything going on in the world Dave has some strong thoughts and feelings about all the unfortunate events going on right now everything from social media to the war between the Ukraine and Russia. Don't take it personal it's not meant toward anyone person or group. Dave just lets it all hang out and he feels a little better afterwards.

I tell you folks, sometimes in this world I think the IQs of some people are getting lower by the day. That's just the reality of it. The things people make up in their heads and then have the nerve to say it or better than some scripted soap operas back in the day. Social media is the landing point. I remember a time when social media wasn't a thing. I remember when social media became a thing. What social media has progressed to is something that I choose to sparingly participate in at this point in 2022. What are your thoughts? Give it a listen if you agree or disagree just let me know. .

We're calling this one I'm scared... I've had a lot on my mind lately, some would say it's midlife crisis. The term living wage is become a new thing over the past few months. Basically what it means is the ability to pay for the basic necessities on any given salary. Meaning that you would always be guaranteed a certain amount of money on a job and you would be able to buy the necessities in life by working that job.
