Christians: "The Bible doesn't have women leading." The Bible: "Here's Judith, who tells the church leaders they're wrong, sneaks into an enemy camp, saves an entire nation, and then just... goes home." Also Protestants: "...let's not print that one anymore." Yeah. We should probably talk about that. 

What if purity culture built its biggest rules on verses that don't actually say what we think they do? We're opening the Bible, reading the original languages, and asking whether Jesus was really talking about what we've been told He was. Fair warning: your pastor probably won't love this episode.

At some point, an entire generation of Christian kids was handed a purity ring, compared to a dessert, and told this was a healthy way to think about sex.
