WCCO is looking back on our 100 years on the air! Today, we're going way back into the archives to the 1920s and the birth of the "singing" commercial jingle. When Washburn Crosby (now General Mills) purchased WCCO, they started finding new ways to market a new cereal. It became a radio landmark, the original sung "Wheaties Jingle". 

As WCCO looks back on 100 years of serving listeners across the Upper Midwest, we're remembering some of our greatest personalities over the year as well. In 1998, one half of the legendary Boone and Erickson hung up the headphones. Roger Erickson said goodbye to WCCO and especially the WCCO listeners. 

We're looking back at 100 of the most iconic moments in WCCO's century-long history! The Minneapolis Aquatennial drew thousands to the City of Lakes and that included some of the biggest stars of the time in the early years of the festival. We're looking back on 100 years of WCCO Radio in 2024!  In 1984, the country voted overwhelmingly for Republican incumbent President Ronald Reagan.
