Way to Go

We talk character which is who you are when no one is looking.  It's the traits that make you who you are and define you.  It's not defined by the varied opinions of others because sometimes people are ticked you did the right thing.  Good character is doing the right thing no matter what.  Steve Sargent is with me this week!  

Jeri and I talk on this episode all about time and making the most of it.  She brings up some great points and interjects her normal sass! This is a super relevant everyday topic!  

Have our youth pastor, Eric Barfell, with me talking about teens.  We discussed setting the example and expectations and communicating.  All relevant stuff!!  

Love today is getting stretched to mean "accept everything" and that's not really what it means.  I loved my children but I certainly expected good behavior.  That was part of loving them too!  Talking love today!  

Sometimes we bear incredible burdens because we will not acknowledge what we did wrong!  We can because God forgives us, we can be relieved of our burdens by confessing it.  We're not talking about confessing everything that we do but we should confess wrong doing as far as it goes!  I'm sorry I did that is a great way to restore relationships and get back on the right track.  

Redemption comes from concept of a slave being bought and set free.  We are free people and free to do the right things but we have to live it!  There is so much hope in God's power to become a better person who makes a difference in our world.

Jeri and I talk in this episode about being a good friend.  It's important to have friends and it's important to be a great friend.  What does that take?  

Steve Arsulic and I talk about how to make changes in your life.  We want to really change and that includes some commitment and remorse for when we've blown it.  

One of the sad things in life is that relationships break apart.  I've fought plenty of times to keep them together but there are times to let go.  Like Ecclesiastes says, there's a time and place for everything.  Appreciate Jeri coming in and talking about a very relevant topic!  

There is no room for pride so Mark and I discuss the points of humility and it's relevance.  I mention a verse about Nebuchadnezzar from Daniel.  He said that the kingdom was built by his might and for his glory and that's what pride is.  It's when I think I did it all alone and I did it for applause - it's wrong!  Just straight talk on an important topice.  

Our character counts!  Eric Barfell and I talk about doing right, being genuine, and being trustworthy.  And your integrity does not mean everyone agrees with you, it just means you can look at yourself and know in your heart that you are doing right in God's eyes.  You have a clear conscience about things.  

This world is dazzling with the beauty and all that we love.  It can be easy to forget about our spiritual side so Mark and I talk about training yourself to be godly!  Hope it helps!  It always helps me to think through it, that's for sure!!

Lots of disagreeing in our world today.  I'm frustrated and you probably are too - here are some timely tips to deal with it!

Listening is a much needed trait these days.  It's easy to talk and harder to listen so let's take a look at what the Bible says in this regard!  Appreciate Mark doing the show with me!!

Steve Sargent and I are doing our best to talk through some issues and also strategies to combat racism.  The thought of injustice routinely happening to a group of people is staggering.  We as believers can have no part of looking down at others because of the color of their skin.  We are all one in God's eyes.  I appreciate Steve's friendship and all that he does for Ashtabula County!  

So much going on in our world.  It super saddens me to hear that our brothers and sisters of color do not feel they have equality.  We can all do our part by showing love and respect to all.  Steve Sargent continues to share his experiences and thoughts in this episode.  

We acknowledge racism exists.  I have never felt it but certainly there are communities of color who feel it toward them.  As believers in Christ, it must be rooted out in our hearts, wherever it may be found.  Steve Sargent is a great brother and was glad he's doing this show with me!  

How do you stay positive in a negative world?  We need to think on positive things, get away from the negativity, hang with positive people and take positive steps!  Let's get out of the ditch!
