Isaiah predicts the great expansion of the church. Zion would not stay in captivity. Her descendants would spread through the whole world and the whole world will acknowledge her God. References: Isaiah 54:1-5

The Psalmist sees the church in its glory not just as a place for the Jews only but as a place for people from many nations. This was God's plan to bring into being a glorious church made up of people from all over the world. In this sermon we want to look at that church and see its glory. Psalm 87

A great victory was won at the cross. Jesus went to the cross for a great purpose. He went to the cross that you might live. He went to the cross that your sins might be forgiven. He went to the cross that you might be made right with God. Have you come to Jesus with your sins? Have you come to the foot of the cross and accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for your own sins? God's people would not cease to be. On the contrary they would continue and endure and multiply. Israel as a people and a nation would endure as long as the sun and moon. God would never cast them off forever. References: Jeremiah 31:35-40

God promises the Israelites that they will one day return and prepare for the coming of the Messiah. He reinforces His promise with the promise of a New Covenant. References: Jeremiah 31:31-34

The Jewish people had gone into captivity and been punished for their sins. Now God sends a promise to encourage them. He would bring them back to their own land. They would come back as one people no longer divided. He would bring them back for a purpose. All was not lost. There was hope for the Jewish people. Jeremiah 31:23-30

Israel would return to their own land. Though now they were being taken into captivity to Babylon, a time would come when they would return. There is great hope here for Israel. God will not forsake his people. He had a plan and He would carry out that plan. Jeremiah 31:15-22
