Vision Church - Dinwiddie

On this episode, Pastor Jon explores Acts 1 and the challenge to stay and wait in a world that is always in a hurry. Before the disciples could go, they needed to get full of the Holy Spirit, because waiting time isn’t wasted time, it’s where God gives us His peace, His plan, and His power. If you want God to move in your life, sometimes the first step is making room for Him to move by waiting on...

On this episode, Pastor Jon walks us into Acts 19, where the Sons of Sceva discovered that you can say the right words and wear the right labels, but without real anointing, there is no real power. Paul carried a Spirit‑filled life that made heaven know his name and hell respect his authority, while others tried to borrow a faith they didn’t actually live. This episode reminds us that God invites...

On this episode, Pastor Dan takes us to Acts 1, where Jesus tells His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit—the power they would need to do what God called them to do. Before the miracles, before the mission, there was a moment of waiting, wondering, and asking, “Lord, will You restore the kingdom now?” Jesus reminds them—and us—that the real change comes when the Spirit fills ordinary people with...

Is the Holy Spirit real… or just a myth? On this episode, Pastor Jon shows us in Acts 19 that Christianity was never meant to be lived on our own strength—because you cannot live life for God unless you are fueled by God. The Holy Spirit isn’t a force or a formula but a Helper, an Advocate, a Him who teaches us, convicts us, and reminds us that God is with us always. When we get under the influenc...

On this episode, Pastor Jon reminds us that Ephesians 5 calls us to live wisely and stay filled with the Spirit, and one of the ways we do that is through praise—through the psalms, hymns, and songs that shape our hearts. Just like popular songs can pull us back to moments of joy or pain, praise becomes a magnifier that brings God’s faithfulness, greatness, and promises into focus. When we choose...

On this episode, Pastor Jon speaks from Matthew 18, where Jesus shows us that forgiveness isn’t petty—it’s powerful, because sin slows us down but grace speeds us up. We all carry hurts, some petty, some accidental, some intentional, and some deeply abusive, but we’re never fully free until we forgive and let God lift the weights we’ve been dragging. When we stop fighting in our heads, stop sharin...

On this episode, Pastor Jon takes us to Joshua 4, where God commands Israel to build an altar of twelve stones so future generations will remember His power and faithfulness. Just like those stones at Gilgal, the altars we build in our own lives become places of remembrance, encounter, and grace—reminding us where God met us, what He brought us through, and what He’s promised ahead. When we choos...

Who and what are you rooted in?  On this episode, Pastor Jon speaks from Acts 2 and Acts 3 reminding us that being rooted in miracles means slowing down long enough to see the needs right in front of us—because you’ll never meet the need if you don’t see the need. Just like Peter at the Beautiful Gate, we’re called to look at what we do have, offer it to God, and trust that faith is our job and mi...

Who and what are you rooted in?  On this episode, Pastor Jon reminds us that the Acts 2:42-43 church wasn’t just a gathering—it was a community rooted in fellowship, where God used people to heal, grow, and strengthen one another. Just as the Temple had courts that moved progressively closer to God’s presence, healthy relationships require filters instead of walls so we can come close enough for G...
