Jodi and Jeremy fill you in on where they've been and where their headed.  There's a shout out to some 9th grade students, Jodi sings the intro song, and they talk about people who have died in the last year... yeah, I know it sounds morbid, but it makes sense, I promise!

Approaching Jeremy's transplant anniversary, the Powells prepare to celebrate a year of life reclaimed. But as his mobility returns and normalcy beckons, the family faces a new challenge: resisting the pull toward an overscheduled life that leaves little margin for the unexpected.

The return home means an attempt to return to life as it was before meningitis... but things will never be the same.

After too long of a break due to illness and life, Jeremy and Jodi are back with a new episode.  Trust me, you don't want to miss it!

After 6 weeks at physical therapy Jodi loads Jeremy up and heads home, and the Powell's struggle to adjust to the new normal.

Today it has been 4 years since Jeremy got his new bone marrow.  This week on the podcast, Jeremy and Jodi recount the darkness that began to creep in over our family as the realities of my long term prognosis began to sink in for everyone.

Middle school is tough enough, but at 15 and 12 years of age, Emma and AJ also had to process a father that was dying, a mother that was doing her best to hold it all together, and the uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow holds.  Listen to the Powell girls discuss the good and bad of processing the trauma, and what they would recommend to others experiencing similar circumstances.

Jodi is faced with hard decisions, Jeremy gains a half-inch in height, and they both get to fly private for the first time... just not like they had hoped.

Finally admitted to the NIH, Jeremy begins having intense hallucinations involving gun battles in the hallway and a human trafficking ring that was targeting Jodi.  

As Jeremy tries to push through the illness, his symptoms just get worse.  Jodi pushes to get the National Institutes of Health involved.  Jeremy pushes back. There may still be a little tension...

An "act normal" mentality, COVID-19 pandemic, and memories of a past infection pushed the Powell family right to the edge before they finally got the diagnosis.  A diagnosis that would change their lives forever.
