What gives us satisfaction? Making our house clean and orderly, accomplishing our work, receiving praise for a job well-done, spending time with a loved one? These things are good for our souls but they are fleeting.

耶穌為什麼大發雷霆？祂為上帝的聖名，為上帝的聖殿，為上帝的榮耀，用強烈的行動潔淨聖殿，顯出祂為上帝的殿心急如焚。耶穌潔淨聖殿讓我們看到耶穌聖潔、公義、威嚴的一面。耶穌要除去污穢，糾正偏差，讓教會，就是上帝的殿，可以重新恢復成為萬國禱告的殿，讓世人可以親近上帝，得以禱告和敬拜上帝。

When you stand up for what is right, you usually have a compelling reason. You might have been fed up with the corrupt status quo. You might have wanted to shake people out of their apathy. You might be protecting someone you care about. Jesus also stood up for what was right when He went to the temple in John 2. In fact, He got so angry that He drove out the merchants forcefully.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19 that we are to go and make disciples of all nations . We do this by proclaiming the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. This is our mission while we are here on earth. How about God? What is His mission?

Just by looking at the wonders of the universe, we can fervently say that God is the great Giver. He gave us everything we have – our families, our work, our friends, the music we love, the hobbies we’re passionate about, our prized possessions, our talents, and our money. God gave first. We can never out-give Him. The only response He deserves is for us to give back.

Tim Tebow has this to say about significance: I think the greatest tragedy in life is looking back and saying, “I was successful in things that didn’t matter.” Being successful does not necessarily translate to being significant. If what you say and do show the love of God, then that is significant – and that will have eternal value.

Let’s look at the first miracle of Jesus recorded in John chapter 2 to learn spiritual lessons.  The Gospel of John was written that we might believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.    “耶穌在門徒面前另外行了許多神蹟，沒有記在這書上。 但記這些事要叫你們信耶穌是基督，是上帝的兒子，並且叫你們信了他，就可以因他的名得生命。” 約翰福音 20:30-31
