Dr. Jen Gilbertson , Assistant Professor Biblical Studies (UG) returns to our Chapel pulpit with a message entitled “Hope Carried in Community” based on Romans 12:9-21.

Among other activities and events at Tyndale on September 30, we will commemorate the day with a special Community Chapel featuring speaker Dr. Shari Russell, the Director of NAIITS An Indigenous Learning Community .

We are pleased to have Pastor Paul Woodburn , Lead Pastor at First Alliance Church in Toronto, speak from our Chapel pulpit Tuesday September 23, 2025 at 11:15 am (ET) . His message is entitled “ Reflections on Jonah ”.

Lizzie Reynolds , Tyndale’s Coordinator of Student Mentoring and Spiritual Development, will offer a contemplative look at some “Friends of Jesus”. This week, she’ll consider Saint Augustine

We invite all students, faculty, and staff for our first Community Chapel of the 2025-2026 academic year, held on Tuesday September 9, 2025  Tyndale President, Dr. Marjory Kerr, will be our speaker and offer an address to our community.

This is our FINAL "Abide Podcast" of the 2024-2025 academic term. Lizzie Reynolds will again lead us contemplatively and meditatively as we look at the final Christian virtue of the series. This week's virtue is "kindness".

We are grateful to have Dr. Jen Gilbertson , Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies (UGS), as our Community Chapel speaker this Tuesday April 1, 2025 at 11:15 am (ET). Jen's message, based on Acts 9:1-19, is entitled "Not Alone on the Way: Paul, Ananias, and being God’s Holy People." 

We continue our "Abide-Podcast" with a reflection on the next Christian virtue. This week's virtue is "patience".

The Rev. Dr. Sarah Han , Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology and Director of the Centre for Pastoral Imagination will speak this week in Community Chapel at 11:15 am on Tuesday March 25 . The title of her message is “Victorious in Christ” . Sarah will also lead our community in Communion.

Dr. Sam Chung (BRE '05 & MDiv '09) who currently serves Peoples Christian Academy in Markham as the senior school chaplain, will offer this week's message. The title: "I Love the Smell of a Locker Room, It Smells of Potential!" based on Genesis 50:17-21.

We continue our "Abide-Podcast" with a reflection on the next Christian virtue. This week's virtue is "diligence".

This week, the Rev. Kaarina Hsieh (MDiv '98) returns to our pulpit. Since 2012 Kaarina has served as the Lead Pastor of Parkway Forest Community Church in Toronto. Previously she served in a number of roles at Tyndale University. Kaarina's message is entitled "Look Higher and Deeper" and is based on Psalm 121.

We are pleased to welcome back to our pulpit Dr. James Robertson, Associate Professor of Christian History and Director of Distributed Learning at Tyndale . James' message is entitled "Dad Joke — A Simple Way to Love God with Your Mind" . The message is based on Psalm 19 and Matthew 22:23-40.

We are very pleased to welcome Pastor Matt Naismith (BRE '09), the Director of the C3 Canadian Campus Collective, host of The Sowers Podcast, and a church planting catalyst with Send Network Canada, to our Community Chapel pulpit. Matt will preach from Luke 7. His message is entitled " The Table: Come Eating and Drinking".

Gary's message is called " What Now — Psalms of Lament and Petition" . Gary is the Pastor of Adult Ministries and Finance Director at King Street Community Church in Oshawa, where he’s on the teaching team and leads the small group ministries and adult electives. He and his wife Maria have a vibrant household with five young children between the ages of 2 and 9. 

We are very happy to welcome Pastor Jervis Djokoto (MDiv '20), the Senior Director of Church Health with the Free Methodist Church in Canada, to our Community Chapel pulpit. Jervis, the most recent recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Horizon Award for Tyndale Seminary, will preach from Hebrews 4. His message is entitled " Operating from God's Rest ".

We welcome our Provost, Dr. Beth Green , to share with the community. Dr. Green's message, based on Isaiah 40, is entitled " Signs of Hope and Comfort. " It might feel a bit Christmassy again to return to Isaiah 40 but hope and comfort are not just for Christmas and the prophets discerned the signs of hope and comfort in the most unlikely of places.
