Two Men and an English Major

After a wild few week hiatus, the gang is back with the continuation of their summary of The Iliad. Lyn takes great pleasure in the gods' motivations, Ben critiques ancient Greek battle tactics, and Jordan explains what high school was like for him in the early 2000s.

We begin our journey through the Trojan war with "The Iliad"! Lyn makes videogame references, Ben reminds us of Reddit, and Jordan bemoans the stupidity of the Greek gods.

We finally reach the threatened Wuthering Heights. Lyn bemoans the existence of Byronic heroes, Jordan is concerned for child welfare, and Ben freaks out at Heathcliff's graveyard antics.

Today we're going back to the roots of English Poetics with Beowulf! The original Old English Epic Poem. The gang talks about vikings, monsters, jesusification, and more on today's episode.

This week we delve into the 1920's and discuss the quintessential American Novel: The Great Gatsby. Lyn enjoys the boys freaking out about cheating spouses and car accidents while trying to emphasize that symbolism is very important to this book.
