Tutor Reviews

Be warned folks... Not only is this an IntoxiCommentary episode and not only is this damn near 3 hours long, but this is a conversation for the books. I say be warned because myself and my guests veer off topic a LOT here, so much so that we even stop the film a few times to make certain points. So if you stick with this one here, you're a true Day One listener. But nonetheless, this is hands down...

What a gem to FINALLY be talking about during... I've waited way too long for this so when I saw it again YouTube, I jumped at it. Much like Judy never does when she has the chance on the roof of Hull House in this flick. But to say the least, this here is such a breakthrough 80s horror comedy, with tons of horror, humor, gore, and great characters you can attach yourself to. It's one for the book...

The Chi has undoubtedly become one of my favorite tv shows ever so when major things don't add up in the story without explanation, my brain goes right to work... I'm not one of those fans who can just let any old thing slide. And being as though I love this story and these characters so much, I need for everything invovled to make sense and come full circle. So there's a few things I must know as...

The title for this is actually a breath of fresh air, considering the fact that the last actual Die Hard movie was complete shit... So there's no doubt that even this being an action comedy and almost a spoof of the genre, it's going to be miles ahead of that. Also it's good to see a Philly native on any screen, small or big. Kevin Hart finally gets to stray away from being the sidekick in an acti...

It's a bad day... Yup. Blumhouse and Universal just took a big steaming shit in our pumpkin pie. Enjoy, folks.

It's about fucking time!... And I say/type that with excitement right now, because this movie has been hard to come by on tv and cable in general. This is the epitome of how to properly do a horror classic remake. It does so many things right, it's hard to even hate on it in my opinion. Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, and the rest of the cast for starters... They are the glue for this. The writing, d...

Make no mistake here... The Halloween series is my favorite of any slasher series in existence. But there are some things this series has done thag I can't turn a blind eye to. Sure, this series began to go in some strange directions when Halloween 5 came into play. And Halloween 6 took the character and story to a completely bonkers level. I know. But when you scrap three entire sequels like they...

One of my top 5 horror remakes of all time... This here is one for the books. There's plenty of cringe and shock value to be had here, and that doesn't always work for horror, or remakes for that matter. But being as though I'm not the Evil Dead purist/fan most are, I was more than open to the idea of a serious toned take on an already wild property. This got me once again. Enjoy, y'all.

I tried something different, and went with some talking over a tv show as opposed to a movie. It wasn't until I was already done the episode, I realized this wasn't my first rodeo with a tv show commentary. I also did Creepshow episode one. But nonetheless, this was interesting. Enjoy, people.

The commentary binge continues, as summer just continues to shed this hellish heat upon us... Safe to say, this isn't weather I think even Julie James can get hooked on (pun intended). I had this on the brain heavy, so I did my first back to back commentary. And this sequel is always worth the watch. Enjoy, folks.

Summertime is kicking our asses out here so far, so this seems more than fitting for the occasion... The only thing scarier than the state of the world is Ben Willis in a slicker, ready for some cat and mouse. This is the 90s slasher people more than likely mention after Scream, and rightfully so. Once I get past the confusing mystery stuff, it's always a solid horror flick. Enjoy, people.

I noticed I haven't been too up to date with the current movie news happening right now, so I tried to stay as semi-current as I could... I didn't have many topics at hand, but I tried to stay relevant as possible. I think. Enjoy, y'all.

So in my back to back (what it seems like) commentary amongst the Big Beasts, I found myself back with the elm Street series... Freddy is a character that's hard to hate, yet hard to be taken seriously these days. Once he became a joke, it was hard to make him a horror figure again. But that doesn't mean I don't always have love for even my least favorite entries. Enjoy, people.

First of all, at some point, I had a call with my ace, M. Rite... My family and fellow horror buff, just to discuss the movie/series for a bit. Other than that, let's jump into Jason getting his first and last mask of the series. It was only right I showed respect to Steve Miner on his birthday, the only director to return twice to the FT13th series. Also the one who gave Jason his signature look...

So this really happened... Like for real. Enjoy, people.

One of my favorite, if not favorite overall, hood movies ever made... And the movie that cemented Tupac Shakur's acting career 100%. In honor of the late great artist/MC/revolutionary/etc., I decided this flick was a must to discuss. It's basically a black horror movie, so what's not to love? Enjoy, y'all.

I originally was going to do a review for this, but I decided this commentary was much needed... And since this is a topic I've been itching for it had to go down today. This is a I feel is pretty misunderstood, which is an understatement when talking about the TCM series. But I've always respected what this sequel set out to do, which was go back to the source material. Enjoy, y'all.

Due to more of my unpopular opinions, I have to state how much I love this sequel... It's actually my favorite sequel after the original, and for good reason. It takes everything I love about the idea of Scream, and capitalizes on it all. I can only hope the next entry Radio Silence is working on is as entertaining as this here. Enjoy, people.

The last thing I expected was to see this news... And the last thing I expected was to be all in favor of it. There's been so many attempts to being back old Wolfy into the fold, whether it be a solo flick or a connected universe flick. Some have been decent, and others not so much. But hopefully Universal has been taking notes and they're ready to separate Ryan Gosling from The Notebook, and brin...

Leave it up to our good friends at the MPAA to consistently nit pick at some glorious gore effects on screen... The crazy thing is that it seems as though they're WAY more lenient towards horror movies now that they can be so unfiltered (Saw, Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes, etc.). I just hate the idea of practical effects geniuses having their hard and amazing work turned into something that's tame,...

I'm sure I've never seen this harmless childhood game played quite like this before... When you throw in dark humor, horror and cult antics, things are bound to get bat shit crazy. I wasn't familiar with these directors here, but Radio Silence has gotten the acclaim from this here for good reason. Enjoy, y'all.

Be warned, people... I didn't know this movie trailer's dialogue was going to be in straight up Russian, and I tried to be vocal about some lines in the subtitles. Not what I'm used to, so my apologies if this throws listeners off. But if it's a new creature feature, as long as I get some solid practical effects on top of the CG, I'm curious as to what separates it from the rest of them. Enjoy, fo...

You just can't keep a good remake down... Or in this case, what I think will be a bad one in every sense. You just can't recapture certain 90s nostalgia, man. It doesn't matter who or what is attached to the project... There's no topping something like this original cult classic, so I just had to vent about the overall idea of this nonsense. Enjoy, people.

Leave it up to Christopher Noland to give me a movie that looks like it'll make my head hurt... During the morning of my hangover. But I'm intrigued to say the least. Enjoy, people.

First of all, I have to apologize to anyone who may be tuning in and/or watching the film with me as the commentary goes along... There are some very minor moments when the DVD I was playing skips, but nothing too serious. But other than that, I had to take the time out to admire one of my top 5 zombie movies ever made. Characters I was emotionally invested in, social commentary, guns, gore, loote...
